This was the 2nd one I tried. The 1st one had NO protective paper on the base, and was scratched all up. The 2nd one was the same. no protective film. it looked just like the one I returned. Scratched, and all gouged up. I thought form the video that the base also had a protective film on it. It did not that I could tell. Unless I'm missing something, the base has no protective film!!!

I had to laugh reading other reviews complaining that there was no protective film, because mine came with protective film on both sides of the base and stand pieces, and good luck trying to get the film off. It took me a good 20 minutes to do so. Maybe there's a trick to it. If so, maybe the manufacturer should share that secret. But four stars for a good product once you actually get those protective films off. What I did, in frustration, was to take a letter opener and scratch the part that would be unseen so I could gain a fingerhold.

We purchased a native crafted flute in Sedona and this flute stand holder is just perfect for holding our hand carved wooden flute. The stand comes in 3 pieces that are all protected with a film to keep the stand scratch free. Once you remove the film, you put the two clear acrylic legs into the base stand and then place your flute on the legs. It holds the flute nicely and then you can proudly display it on a table or dresser.

I peeled the protective film from the stand base and from the upright pieces as per the instructions that came with the product. The little plastic razor blade provided for the purpose worked very well. However, when I attempted to fit the uprights into the slots in the base, they seemed to be too big. Thinking it was intended to be an extremely tight fit, I persisted in my efforts until the end of the base snapped off making the entire unit useless. Very poor design
