First, these Mardi Gras scratch cards are totally black. There are photos of what they look like. I seriously doubt anyone outside of a serious artist is going to be able to create the end results in the photos on this product page. It's technically possible, but doubtful. So if you're thinking that your children are going to make anything that looks that good, guess again. There are no stencils or guides. This is totally a design your own kind of thing. As long as you don't expect these end results, you'll enjoy this little craft. These masks aren't much bigger than an adult's hand, so there are many uses for them as ornaments or other decorations. The black scratches off rather easily with the included pens. The color underneath is pretty much what you see in the product ad. These would be a fun thing for a teacher to plan in art class or just for fun.

Though the dimensions are accurate, about 5" x 5", one of the photos shows a child and parent, and the ornament looks like it could be a mask on the child.These are way too small for that.Otherwise, they are similar to other "scratch art" items. Scratch off the black to reveal the color underneath.There are no guides, no inscribed lines on the black side- all the scratching is left to the imagination. Unless you have a steady hand and an artist's eye, you are not going to get the results on the product page. That being said, there are 60 of them, so you can make mistakes and still get something awesome.

We used these with the kids and they had a blast scratching off shapes onto their masks. The colors are vibrant and it is straightforward to use. It's a unique way to celebrate Mardi Gras. The masks are not flimsy and allows for each person to be creative and represent themselves.

This is an awesome set especially for the price. Kids of all ages absolutely love these. I do substitute teaching and I have some little ones for younger children but I wanted some like these for my 3rd and 4th graders. This set has everything including ribbon for hanging them when they are done. I especially love the scratch off sticks. They are large and heavy duty with both ends offering different options to make different designs. And including 60 is very nice. They would be great for a party, too.

What a fun activity! This set comes with everything you need. There are plenty of wooden sticks to go around. It even comes with ribbon to hang them up. This is going to be a fun activity at my Mardi Gras scout meeting. These are made well and doesn't make a huge mess! Very cute! Shipped super fast! Comes with 60 so plenty for kids to make a few each
