I have a garage full of Ryobi products and I like them all. They have been designed well and I have had several for 5+ years without any breakdowns. I added this device last fall for my Fall lawn fertilizing. Yes, I did have to fill the hopper more times than a conventional spreader but not enough to make it annoying. I have about 12000 sq ft of lawn.

The auger wheel is not designed well. It does not distribute the product in the spreader towards the drop hole. Additionally, the adjustment bar in the drop hole stopped working right after first use.
