I just purchased the wayne sws75 shallow well pump with a little skepticism. It was not advertised by wayne as a self priming pump, which means you do not need a foot valve at the bottom of your shallow well, only a check valve at top of the well head. I plumbed it according to the diagram in the instruction manual (which leaves much to be desired), only to have to re-plumb the pressure tank. Once i did this it has worked great, It has drawn water out with no problem, It is quiet, powerful, and well worth the cost. I hope it last several years.

I had two other pumper before I got this one. I am on municipal water, but because of low pressure, need a pump. The first pump 3/4 hp lasted about 20 years, I still had issues with it, but it worked. The second 3/4 hp pump from Lowes didn't last much longer than the 1 year warranty. This one is only 1/2 hp and seems to perform much better than either of these pumps. The Lowes pump would run an extremely long time to build up pressure before it would shut off. This one kicks on/off in less than a minute. It does seem to be noisier than the other pumps, but it is back in the pump room and not noticeable. I do like to have a faint pump sound, that does alarm me that there is leak, if it kicks on and you know that water hasn't been used is a few hours.

This is a nice pump and it was pretty easy to install. My pump 30 yr old Gould pump was failing and I needed to get something quick. I looked the available pumps with Prime shipping and this one had some of the best reviews and it also had a good price. I like everything about this pump except the mounting bracket. I mounted pump to a piece of 2"x12" board with 5/16"x2" carriage bolts but I noticed that the mounting bracket was extremely flimsy. I ended up wedging a piece of radiator hose under water chamber end of the pump to help stabilize it. Once it was piped into the tank and well suction pipe, it stabilized even more. The 4" piece of heater hose acts as shock absorber underneath the pump to make up for the flimsy bracket.The pump is working fine but it did take a while to get it primed. I have quite a length of pipe from my utility room to the well head. Just remember to keep refilling the water chamber with cold water every 3-5 min while you are priming it. Eventually it will prime. You will need to run the water from your faucets for a while to get all of the air out of the system.

This pumped worked just great the first time I hooked it up....no problem at all priming......perfect for our 25 ft shallow well....runs very cool....only problem was the shut off point was not set at 50 psi....I found this out because my wife came running upstairs saying the pump blew up....it didn't, it over heated, then started humming, then quit because the shut off point was at 40 psi and the shut on point was at 30 psi, which caused the pump to turn off, on, off, on etc when my wife was trying to start the washing machine.....boy, was I mad, but turned off the electricity, took off the pressure switch cover and set shut off point to 50 psi. Then I turned it on, watched the pressure gauge as it stopped at 50 psi, then started the washing machine and watched the pressure gauge go down to 30 psi when it cut on again. Pump then operated just fine, cooled off.One thing you must realize is the top output hole is 7/8" NPT.....my old pump output hole was 1" NPT, which necessitated me going to Amazon to order a 7/8" NPT to 1" NPT adapter...it arrived late, too late, as my wife was having a fit with no water for over a week, so I wrote Amazon to complain and they gave me the adapter for free. Very, very nice of them.....so now we've had a perfectly operating Wayne shallow well pump going fine since 20 December 2017...just before Christmas.....I think my wife threatened to shoot me if I didn't get this pump in soon....as I said, over a week without water....had to run all over creation to get hard rubber 1" water lines, clamps, etc......since then, I hid my gun.I highly recommend this pump....just make sure, when you primp it, then turn it on, carefully watch your required pressure gauge to monitor shut on and shut off points (In this case, 30 psi ON, 50 psi OFF)

I got this pump at the same time I purchased the Flotech 1/2 HP Jetpump. The Flowtec pump failed after only 2.5 years, it's no wonder the Warranty is only 1 year while the Wayne warranties are 3 year.In my configuration The Flowtec pump was the pressure tank pump only having to lift the water 3' coming from my reservoir then into my pressure tank. The Wayne pump has had to do all the heavy lifting, pumping the water up 22' through my 2" pipe in a very low flow well (1GPM). The low flow was because of silty sand and a shallow ground water table that's only @ 4' over a hard clay layer I couldn't penetrated. This caused the Wayne pump to suck air about ever 30 seconds and then have to re-prime itself for 2 years. After 2 years the Wayne pump stopped priming itself and I had the bright idea to use a pond pump in the reservoir tied into the priming port of the Wayne pump to help limp it along. It ran for months without water flow or a prime as I barrel fed water into my system. Despite all the horrible abuse in heavily ironed water the Wayne pump is still running with assisted prime and the POS Flotec pump couldn't even do it's job under ideal conditions for the same time period, never loosing it's prime and only having to lift water 3'. I've attached a few pictures from before I put the 8'x4' culvert on top of the wellhead. I've now had 4 Flowtec pumps fail on me counting the two other RV pumps and the one transfer pump and I won't be buying another one again.So I guess the moral of the story here is don't buy Flotec. If you want a jet pump that will last get this (or the 1/2 HP) Wayne models.

pump works great so far,the pump doesnt come with a pressure gauge ive never seen that before,pump is quiet works as should

Bought this one to replace a Red Lion unit that croaked after less than a year.This is quieter, and will build more pressure quicker than our Red Lion unit did. Highly recommend

I have only used the pump for 3 days and it works great. there was no access hole to screw a pressure gauge in to it.
