I was told by a colleague to buy this product because it will save your vehicle from being rear ended. Well he was right. I bought this product and put it on. I just recently got rear ended and well there was very little damage. So little damage in fact that the only way to know that I was hit is if you go underneath the rear bumper and see the damage. And the person who hit me got more damage to their vehicle than me. Luckily the responsible party’s insurance is going to pay for my repairs. Anyway, it could have been worse without that step bumper. It saved me and my rear bumper. The only reason why I’m given it four stars instead of five is because I had to order an extra large Allen wrench through Amazon in order to make sure that it was on right and tight. The proper size Allen wrench can only be found online and not at a hardware store.

These used to be great for steps and also impact protection. However they only attach to the receiver on 1 side of the receiver now. Seems like any impact over about 3 mph would break it right off at the receiver. They are very nice looking though

I’ve had this for seven months now and park in a well used area. It really helps with people on my bumper, scratching the bumper.

Even without using the washers the bolt is to short to go through the other side of the 2in receiver
