Very well designed. The dial is very soft and the point do not have any play. Provides accurate readings on my maps. Should last a lifetime if you take care of it. Comes with lead and extra points.

After making due with the compasses available from our local office supply stores, I finally bit the bullet, spent a few dollars and got the real deal. I'm in my second year of teaching geometry and absolutely love this thing! While it hasn't taken all the pain out of geometry, the constructions are quicker, easier, neater, and more accurate.

I bought this compass for my Nautical course at COGC as it is made by the same brand as the brass dividers we are provided. This compass has a long radius and high accuracy thanks to the precise wheel and sharp graphite point, making it ideal for paper chartwork when plotting ranges.

Much better than other dividers, you can achieve ultimate accuracy, especially if you're plotting celestial sights.The little wheel in the middle moves the diviers in and out which means that once you have measured distance, it won't move until you want it to.The ends are also pointy and there is a holder for a pencil "lead" if you want to make marks on your chart of Universal Plotting Sheet
