I have used many moisture meters and temperature meters, and have not been happy with most of them.These meters last from about 6 to 8 months on the battery that’s in them. Changing the battery for me has not worked. So I buy boxes of multi units, and change the full unit when they go out.When it comes to hermit crabs, the moisture, and the temperature for some of the most important things.I am legally blind, and can still see the moisture number on these units, however, I do need someone to help me read the temperature because it is small.

You get three new meters from the same company, and they still don't all agree on the humidity. In all fairness, I have had numerous types and brands of meters, but only one gave an accurate humidity reading.I always perform a 24-hour salt calibration test to see just how far off they are before using. It is a good habit to get into if you rely on humidity levels for whatever your hobby may be. Look on YouTube for instructions.I've purchased six of these inexpensive little meters, which usually run 2-4% off in either direction. I have also used $20-$30 meters that were 9% off.I actually prefer these because they have the separate sensor, and the meter can stay outside of the habitat. The 80% humidity requirements in a hermit crab habitat seem to shorten the lifespan of digital meters and I have had a few where the readouts went wonky too soon (entire meter was inside the habitat).

These little things are awesome! They work great for all sorts of scenarios. I use mine in my incubator for more accuracy. The thing i like about em is that the humidity AND temperature are showing on the screen.

These thermometers had different readings directly out of the box. I decided to give them some time to adjust before determining if they were accurate or not.This picture was taken after 10 minutes of sitting completely still in the same position/place. They all have different temperature readings, and none of them have the same reading as my accurate thermometer. My other thermometer has been tested and was proven to be accurate.The humidity is reading the same on all three, although I don't have a way of testing the accuracy on that. I don't know whether to trust it or not.Depending on what you are monitoring, you may not want to buy these. They will not work for me because my animals rely on perfect conditions, and I cannot trust these to give me a perfect reading. If you are able to deal with a slightly off reading (within a degree or two), these are a good deal for the price.They are very easy to use but do not come with suction cups to hold in place, which makes them slightly harder to use than other brands. That's why I gave it 3 stars in that category.I didn't have high hopes for these due to the price, but after reading other reviews, I was hoping I would get lucky. Unfortunately, I can't use them and will be returning them for something better.

When these arrived, two of them are dead, one of them had a messed up screen, and the other three looked okay. After switching the batteries around, I now have four of them functioning and looking normal, while one of them just has a messed up screen. You're supposed to be able to look at it straight on, but it has a weird viewing angle where you have to look at it at an odd angle for it to be legible. It also sucks that because two of them had completely dead batteries, and they were all probably manufactured and packaged at the same time, the batteries in the others are probably not far behind so I have to get new batteries for all of them which is an extra cost. I'm going to still give them a try though, because they were pretty cheap, they have probes, and their temperature and humidity readings are all pretty close to each other. If you're on a budget like me and you need a lot of them, I guess I recommend them, but if you're willing to spend a bit more money I would get something else. If these turn out to be trash I will not hesitate to replace them with more expensive ones.

I bought these to check temperature of crawl space in house. The probe requires a hole in floor much larger than previous probes I've used. Also, the humidity is in large type, while the temperature reading is smallerand hard to read. There are more useful ones on market.
