I just installed this inline switch and it is very substantially made and easy to install. It should have holes for drilling into place. I used heavy duty double faced tape, which worked fine.

It worked for 18 and 16 gauge wire. It is large, but I knew that going in. No grommets at cable entries, not water tight. I wouldn't use outdoors.

I used this as a switch between a plug and a heating element. First off, the case needed to be filed down so it could be fit together. Bad molding job, no quality control. No way is this waterproof. No grommets at the entrances for the wire, no seal for the enclosure, no seal for the switch. As for the provided switch, it is not designed to fit in the case. The case must be modified before it can be installed. While the switch Is lighted, it is lighted whenever the power is on and does not indicate the condition of the switch. Not much use because it doesn't tell you if the switch is operating or not, the whole idea of a lighted switch. So if you are looking for a product you can use off the shelf, pass this up. If you don't mind some filing for fit and sealing for waterproofing, this will be OK. If you don't care for the safety issue of not knowing if what you are controlling is on or off, this might work for you. P.S. The ad wording is a little misleading. These are NO terminal lugs included with this. Some people appeared to confused about it in the comments.

As noted by previous buyers, this isn’t a use out of the box item. The switch doesn’t fit and requires some plastic grinding to get the parts together. Additionally, the instructions on the web for how the switch light works is not included so you better have the Amazon page up when you hook things up. A slip of paper with the directions in the package would have been nice. It’s a bulky switch so if you are expecting something like on a lamp, this isn’t it. If you are ok with all that, it works and does the inline ON/OFF thing as advertised. 3 stars for the grinding mods and lack of instructions

Very sturdy construction, and suitable for higher demand power cords, such as the round cord of a vacuum cleaner. Arrives with no instructions. Fortunately, the product page at Amazon has good images to go by. The power button must be installed in the case before wiring is done. Installing the button is a VERY tight fit, and the button cannot be removed once installed. The four terminals for the cord wires have tight clearance for heavy-gauge wire, especially if the wire is stranded. Gets the job done with some effort, and the provided strain-relief bars give assurance that future tugs on the cord will not allow any loosening.

On/off switch on my vacuum quit working. This one is a good replacement.

Installed this switch in my DOLOMITE rotary tool cord when the on/off switch on the tool itself broke. Easy to install and works great. I like that it has screw type wire fasteners and love the lighted switch feature. The cord on my tool was a little smaller that the strain relief tabs are made for , but just turned them over an it holds the cord just fine.
