These weighted extra wide gap hooks were as expected. They are very sharp and the 1/16 oz were spot on for weight. These have some of the weight placed on the elbow near the eye which is different than other brands. This appears to help give it a resting point when the bait is on the bottom. However, it does make it a little more challenging to get soft plastics hooked up properly as it can tear them trying to get over that nub. The larger weight further back on the hook seems fine to get the soft plastics through. You can also secure soft plastics by not trying to run them through the entire hook which avoids the issue I noted.Over all I can recommend these weight EWG hooks.

As I prepare for my upcoming retirement, I have accumulated numerous fishing supplies. I will be spending a lot of time in many different environments and waters. These include fresh, salt, and especially lakes and rivers. Lake fishing means weeds and these hooks will help tremendously. I have other similar swim baits and these are very lifelike with their color and motion while being reeled through the water. I set them up as pictured in the advertising photos. I gave them a thorough test run recently and they attracted a lot of attention from fish. Landed a catch in a weedy area within minutes after my second cast. I have decided to order several different sizes.

Need heavy duty, strong hooks for big fish with strong jaws, look no further. These are going to be for your bigger baits, I use them with 7†flukes. Not common around here making them twice the value for me
