I see no reason to spend more on brand name steel plates. These weigh weight and do the trick. Seem perfectly calibrated. Curved plates might be more ergonomic, but I’m happy with these.

I thought I could do the set of 20lbs, but my frugal nature won out and I went with the 15lb. BOY am I glad I did. These are durable ruck plates that fit nicely in a standard plate carrier. I've been walking around with them for about a month now and it's just this week that it feels like the breath isn't going to get pressed out of my lungs by these two half-inch steel plates pushing from front and back. So glad I didn't get the 20s, though I'm sure the quality would still be there.

These weights fit perfectly into most weight vests on Amazon. My initial test left me only slightly winded, and was a great leg, back, and core strengthening workout. For me, it was better than jogging and putting impact stress on my knees. I took it easy, enjoyed the scenery, and felt good at the end!
