I got this with an open mind. Having used bulky welders in the past I was not expecting much but liked the handled feature and I was very surprised how well this performed. I recommend getting better gloves and face shielding. I expect this to last a long time.

As someone who only uses for occasionally light welding and tacking this kit contains everything needed to start out....welder, rods, gloves, handheld face shield and an extremely light duty combination wire brush and slag hammer....with the claim of a 25% duty cycle don't expect to use this for long uninterrupted welding beads. The pistol style machine is a bit cumbersome and takes some getting used to for someone who has welded with a conventional set-up....the bead is not as nice as other some others I've used but does have enough penetration and strength for most everyday projects....for example I've repaired metal garden carts, wheelbarrows, playground equipment, yard toys and tricycles.....If I compared this to a higher end welding machine I would have rated it only 2 stars but with it's uniqueness, light weight and portability I gave 4 stars but don't expect it to perform like a conventional machine.
