I'm not a welder but I did use this for a couple little jobs, nothing that would be a safety issue, but it does weld and will hold at least my weight as I used it to fix the frame of my computer chair. However I do not think it is as good as a normal welder but that is to be expected.

I usually prefer flux core, but this is great to learn stick on. I wouldn't use this for big jobs, but small things around the house or industrial arts this works perfectly for. It's small size makes it convenient to move around.

The only reason I purchased this item is because of the crazy good reviews it received online from actual shops. Obviously this isn't going to replace a full-time welder but perfect for odd welding jobs you may need to do at the house. Don't be fooled though. Welding is harder than it looks!

I bought this welder as a training tool for myself to start to learn to weld. I wasn't really expecting much especially when I saw this product gets returned a lot. I'm not really sure what other people experience has been with this but I'm a beginner welder at best and I was able (with a little practice) to get the welds from this machine to look like the above posted picture. I'm giving it 4 star bc I'm not sure what else you would expect for a welder at this price. It above and beyond what I expected ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘

This needs to be plugged directly into an outlet with a min 30amp breaker or you’ll be blowing your breaker. We had it plugged into a 10 awg extension cord, 25’, and only turned it up to 120, which was NOT power for it to work at all. It MELTED the extension cord plug. Since I can’t set up a welding table directly next to my breaker box, I can’t use this at app unless I want to use my big generator to provide power. Don’t be fooled - to be able to weld effectively, you need a proper welding machine and proper electrical service. This machine is cute and seems like it could be convenient- but I highly doubt that for the usual buyer, that this will be anything but money down the drain.

Overall, the unit did what it was supposed to. I welded several wrought iron patio benches.The good - very inexpensive, lightweight, and works.The not so good - the amp knob and readout appear to be for show. I saw others on Youtube measuring the amperage, and it's about half of what is shown. I used the 2.4 mm rods, and had trouble striking an arc. I eventually turned it up all the way to get it to work.Also, the arc was probably difficult because I couldn't get a good ground. Subsequent viewings of Youtube showed welders filing away any material (paint, etc.). I didn't do this, so ground was spotty.I don't anticipate welding much, so even hit-or-miss, it'll work for me. Is it a decent starter unit? Yes.Don't forget to get a helmet. My unit did not ship with the flimsy hand-held mask.
