I needed to put lights in an out building and didn’t want to run a permanent line. This plug allowed me to run temporary power to my building using a heavy extension cord. It worked great.

Very simple to install, provided screws were cheap and bent/stripped when I attempted to tighten them in the pilot holes in thin sheet metal. I used a quality self tapping screw instead. Unit is flush and low profile when all closed up.

I power my shed with a solar generator, but I wired it up like a house. I just needed a way to connect the generator to the service panel. These sockets were just the trick, but I had to mount them in an unconventional way. I wish the mounting holes were a little larger so I wouldn’t have to use such small screws, but I got it all working. I don’t plug and unplug often, so I’m not sure how they’ll stand up over time with repeated use, but they appear well made and heavy-duty. Should last a while.

I actually mounted this in a different outside box designed better to be waterproof. It fit well inside my box I bought. I took off the cap on this unit since I didn’t need it inside my other waterproof box mounted on my chicken coop outside wall and ran wiring from this plug to put plugins inside my coop . I also mounted a electrical box over this plug on the inside just for more security that the chickens won’t be able to get to the wiring and damage it or the poultry getting shocked! The installation went very well and I have no concerns this won’t work as it should. Without the other waterproofing box I added though, I’m not sure how well this would do out in a bad rain storm or snow? Use your own judgement what’s best for you?

Outlet fit well and seem good quality. Screws supplied were cheap and useless. used my own stainless screws with sikaflex sealant. Istalled on an older boler trailer so hope holds up in sun.
