Remember when your saw stayed on the right track? Keep your cuts on the straight and narrow with the WEN 10-Amp Sidewinder Plunge Cut Track Saw. The WEN Track Saw provides users the same results as a table or panel saw in a compact and portable package. Simply lay the track (not included – model CT9502) along the desired surface for a clean and smooth cut. The WEN Track Saw is the perfect companion for ripping plywood, trimming doors, building furniture, and any other application needing long, precise cuts. Our powerful 10-amp motor rotates the 6-1/2 inch blade up to 5500 times per minute, letting you power through even the hardest of woods. Bevel the saw 45 degrees to the left to create angled cuts in boards up to 1-5/8 inches thick. Set the depth gauge anywhere from 0 to 2-1/3 inches to control how deep the saw plunges. The 12 x 6-5/8 inch base features precision grooves that let the saw glide smoothly along the track. However, the saw can also exist on its own as a plunge saw, relying on its flat base for maximum stability and precision. Easily switch between three different blade settings: one for scoring cuts that go 1/8-inch deep, one for full plunge cuts, and one to simplify blade changes. The non-slip base cams reduce pinching and minimizes kickback. The back-mounted dust port allows for attachment to your favorite dust collection system to control sawdust and limit cleanup. Simply attach your dust collection device of choice and start sawing. Compatible with the WEN CT9502 100-Inch Track and the WEN CT992F Track Saw Clamps. And, because it’s a WEN product, your WEN 10-Amp Plunge Cut Circular Track Saw comes backed by a two-year warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians, and a friendly customer helpline, all to make sure you remember WEN.

I bought this track saw after seeing some youtube reviews saying it was a decent saw for the price and not wanting to spend several hundred or into the low thousands for a hobbyist woodworker. I wanted a track saw to break down larger sheet goods so I could get them onto the table saw for final dimensions and my existing circular saw simply wasn't capable of making accurate, square cuts. At the price, I did not have high expectations but was pleasantly surprised at how well this saw functioned and the quality of cuts it produced when making a cabinet-style frame for a closet organizer. I quickly was able to trust the accuracy and squareness of the saw for making final cuts on some of the side panels and the end-results was just as good as my cast-iron top table saw. I cut the panels on 1-1/2" foamboard, and had no tear out when cutting with or against the blade using the included stock blade. I have not tried to do any beveled cuts or use this on hardwoods. If you are like me and want an easy and accurate way to cut down large sheet goods, I would highly recommend this saw. I also recommend getting a dust collection hose that has some flexibility in sizing as my shop vac and other attachments did not quite fit the dust hose on the saw.

This is the best bang for the buck if you need a budgeted track saw. It's not fancy compared to other brands, but it does its job well, cuts straight, and has no frills. Note that you will need to buy the tracks separately. The charger is a dual-battery charger. Apparently, this has been upgraded from a previous version. I don't have a Festool dust collector, but it works with a Ridgid shop vac similarly, with some minor modifications. I primarily use it to break down large sheet goods into smaller sizes, and this is perfect for that task. I also use it to establish a straight reference edge when I don't have a good edge to work from. One set of batteries has given me a full day of work without recharging it, granted I don't cut continuously. That said, the saw didn't break my stride in breaking down sheets, and it helped me work efficiently. Couple this with a good table saw, and you will find a great deal here.

While this saw might not suit a pro, it works quite nicely for this experienced homeowner and hobby woodworker. I can't think of paying $600-900 for a power tool on social security. I've done several cuts with this saw(with a better blade) and am pleased with the results(my needs are mostly sheet goods breakdown). The depth setting could have been done better, but I don't fuss with it very often. My biggest complaint relates to what I assume is a safety feature that prevents kickback as it also prevents sliding the saw backwards with only one hand(you must use the other hand to twist a knob while sliding backwards). These issues aside, the cuts I got were perfect and the track's gripper strips held well without clamps on plywood(clamps are a must on smoother stuff like pegboard). The entire package(110" of track, 2 clamps and a 40T blade as still super affordable. Dust collection is so so, but gets better if you get a plug to fill the side hole(available on etsy for cheap). If you have lots of cash, buy better, If you are on a budget, this will make you quite happy.

I love this track saw and have had a great experience using it. I would recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a track saw. The only slight negative I have is with the dust extraction. The louvers in the dust port cause sawdust to block up in the guard. When that happens, the saw dust starts blowing out from the blade opening and the window in the side of the tool. I opened up the guard and clipped off the louvers in the dust port and am hoping that will resolve the dust blockage. Overall though, I would consider that a minor inconvenience, and it wasn't enough to take a star off of my review.I have been breaking down plywood sheets using a cheap circular saw and various forms of edge guides for years. I've never been happy with the quality of cuts that I get with a circular saw, and I decided that it was time to pull the trigger on a track saw system. I discovered this WEN track saw and chose this tool over the much more expensive options on the market.I really am impressed with the build quality on this saw. The blade guard and base are die cast aluminum and the whole system feels very sturdy and secure. The adjustment knobs are plastic, but they don't feel weak or flimsy when using it or making adjustments. Using the tool, I haven't experienced any flex or play in the system. The structure and feel in the hand is very sturdy. I ordered the Powertec tracks with this saw, and this saw was easy to dial in to the tracks, and I've had no issues getting smooth sliding without play. At this point, I have left the anti-kickback cam in place, and it hasn't caused me any issues with smooth operation. I know others have said it has caused them issues, but I haven't experienced that with my saw.The cut quality on this saw has been excellent. I am using the stock blade, and when cutting plywood sheets, I got clean and accurate cuts without issue. I used the scoring feature to make an initial pass, and then followed through with a full depth cut. Using that method, I got clean cuts with minimal to no blow-out during cross cuts. I was also pleasantly surprised with how quiet and smooth this saw is during operation. It is noticeably quieter than my old circular saw, and there was very little vibration or harshness in the feel of the tool while using it.Overall, I am very happy with this saw. I think it is performing like a higher cost saw. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a track saw. I am very happy with mine.

Had the chance to use the saw a number of times so far on a few different materials like melamine, pine, oak and maple.Considering the cost of this tool (especially when on sale), this is impressive value for money. Build quality may not be best in class, but for a fraction of the cost of those alternatives is greater than one would expect. The included blade isn't bad either, clean cuts so far even through fairly thick maple.Dust collection works rather well - no it doesn't gather 100% of the material, but it is more than respectable. Definitely an upgrade over the mess a typical circular saw would make, and a boon to anyone with limited space.Accuracy of the cuts is very good - the one deficiency I've noticed are the markings for the depth settings, these don't seem to be correct. However, setting the depth is quick and easy, just ignore the markings and ensure your setting is correct.Safety features also good, not everyone is a fan of the anti kickback, but I rather like it.Paired with a good track, and some shop made jigs this will let you do everything you would expect from a track saw, and can stand as alternative to having a table saw.Longevity - I could not say this early on, but I expect to get a good bit of service from the unitOverall good impression so far.
