The Wgge Infrared Thermometer Gun is very easy to use and seems to give an accurate reading in the blink of an eye. Whether it is testing the AC temperature or something else on the hotter side, it comes through with a temperature reading without breaking the piggy bank, so to speak. As it is value priced, it is an impressive device to have in your tool box.

I got this non-contact infrared thermometer because it has adjustable emissivity. Most inexpensive non-contact infrared thermometers have emissivity fixed at 0.95. This will only give correct temperature measurements for brick, concrete, rubber and asphalt surfaces. Aluminum, anodized steel air ducts, stainless steel surfaces may have emissivity coefficients in 0.02-0.1 range. Measuring temperature of aluminum or steel surfaces with e=0.95 will cause significant errors. This non-contact thermometer has variable emissivity settings that can be adjusted anywhere from 0.1 to 0.99. So I can now take precise readings of my nitro car engine aluminum cylinder head temperature. Thermometer takes 2 AAA batteries (included). Color screen is backlit. By default it shows spot measurement, but you can choose to track high or low watermark. You can also turn off the laser pointer. Thermometer has a usable 12:1 focal ratio, which means that it measures average temperature of 1 inch diameter or 1/2 inch radius circle drawn around the red dot if the thermometer is 12 inches or 1 foot away from the measurement surface.

I ordered this product for kitchen use. This product is easy to use. My favorite thing about this product is that it can be used in multiple ways.

I bought my first infrared thermometer after building a backyard oven, and have always appreciated the improvements in accuracy and quality that it brings to making pizza and other baked goods. But that original thermometer cost close to $100 so I was interested to see what the WGGE Infrared Thermometer Gun could offer for a small fraction of that price. On first impression, the WGGE seemed a bit small and cheaply made. It's about half the physical size of my other thermometer but feels like it's considerably less than half the weight. But after inserting the batteries and comparing the pair's performance, I was impressed. The WGGE's readings were within a couple of degrees of my other thermometer, and I appreciated its bright LCD display and ease of use.Does the WGGE have any shortcomings? A couple of minor points. The company's recommendation of positioning the oven thermometer "approximately 14.17 inches /36 centimeters away from the target" for accurate results is fine for many or even most applications but may be a bit close for comfort if you're dealing with the 700F-800F temps recommended for Neapolitan pizza. Additionally, the WGGE thermometer's -58ºF to 1112ºF (-50ºC to 600ºC) temperature range means that this is primarily a tool to use at home and not suitable for industrial applications. Those points aside, the WGGE Infrared Thermometer Gun is a great and affordable tool for cooking, baking, grilling and smoking, and numerous other home applications.
