Like others, I first opted to just replace only the fuse. This fuse blew open on the very next wash cycle. I then had to take everything apart all over again, but this time I listened to all previous reviewers stating that you need to replace the wires. There was even a video on youtube with detailed instructions for this exact kit. The dishwasher is now running fine, it has gone through at least fifteen cycles without any issues. Changing the wires definitely made a big difference on how successful the repair outcome goes. Why is this the case ? Wires do not fail, but the connectors on their ends will over time. As the dishwasher heats and cools, the fast-on terminal expand and contract until they no longer provide a tight and secure electrical connection.

I have a Whirlpool Imperial Series dishwasher (Model #DUL140PPT0) that suddenly stopped one day with water in the bottom. The buttons on the control panel were unresponsive and none of the lights were illuminating. I did some research and found that thermal fuses are a common problem and cause the symptoms I described. I located mine and removed and tested it with a multimeter and found it to be blown. I ordered this part and replaced the old fuse AND wiring, as both are provided. The wires have connections just like the original part, so it was only a matter of plug and play, so to speak. No cutting or splicing wires. Took ten minutes. This is original equipment, not a cheap knockoff, and it works!

Quick, easy, and cheap fix! 3 months ago our dishwasher quit in the middle of a wash. We had a home warranty and the repairman that was assigned said he replaced the fuse and control panel, which could be true, because he did fix the dishwasher. However, just after their 90 day warranty on labor was up, the dishwasher quit again. So i'm thinking, it's the same problem and the repairmen never actually FIXED it. However, I decided to give it a try myself. After searching online for the right part number, I then went to YouTube and watched several videos on how to replace the fuse. I also went ahead and replaced the wire that comes with the fuse. This was super easy and took less than 30 minutes. Now I just hope it doesn't blow again.

This part worked like a charm and our dish washer is back to functional state. Just follow the instructions (included) and make sure you are careful with the wire connections. It is simple to install (took about 20 minutes) and part saved me hundreds of dollars $$$ for a new dishwasher or the cost of a service call. Will recommend this item.

This is the second time my dishwasher had blown this fuse. The symptom is that the dishwasher stops in the middle of usage. The lights go out on the front console. The first time, I swapped this out, I just replaced the fuse and didn't use the harness part of this. The second time, I found a lot of forums that stated you need to swap the wires out too. It's been several months and has not blown out again.

I saved money compared to a service call and even over the cost of the fuse from Sears. As it turns out there was a major short in the board. So I saved alot by just replacing the dishwasher.

I was so excited to find this when we figured out the thermal fuse had gone out on our dishwasher. (We later found out someone shut the water off and didn't turn it back on, causing this fuse to blow when the dishwasher was later used.)It was fairly simple to install. It was a mommy and daughter project. (My daughter is 18 months.) The instructions were pretty much clear. I had to figure out how to take the dishwasher apart myself to get to the panel. I was able to quickly find the wires and fuse. I went ahead and replaced the wires as well. Put it back together and it didn't work. It wasn't until hubby got home and noticed the fuse still in the bag that I got around to actually replacing the fuse. (Hey, a toddler is a little overwhelming.) I switched out the fuse, and it WORKED! I'm so glad I didn't have to find another dishwasher.

This is an excellent repair kit for you Whirlpool/GE dishwasher. If your thermo fuse blows out your dishwasher will not run, the indicator lights will not even turn on. This kit can easily repair you dishwasher. The most challenging part of the repair is getting to the circuit board behind the interior plastic. Once you remove the interior plastic, it's just a matter of popping off the bad parts and installing the new parts. The kit includes detailed instructions for installing the new parts, even instruction on how to remove an old wire. The price of this kit cannot be beat, costing less than half the price from other distributors. I'm going to order another.
