The first motor received got damaged in shipment due to the motor breaking loose from the internal packing cardboard. It looked physically okay so I installed it and it worked when turned on without a load in the dryer. The first attempt to use it failed with a load in the dryer. I had to open the dryer door, manually spin the drum by hand for a half rotation, shut the door, restart, and then it would spin the load. I thought maybe it's a one time issue because the motor needed to be "broken" in. But alas, it needed to be "jump started" each and every time. I requested a replacement due to the issue and a new motor was promptly shipped to me. Once I installed the new motor, the dryer worked perfectly! I would definitely buy from this seller again!

Genuine part. Was easy to install, took about 15 minutes once the dryer was apart. My dryer runs smooth, like new. The wiring in my unit matched so I didn't have to mess with any adapters. This motor uses two snap rings to hold the fan to the shaft so you will want a pair of snap ring pliers. Already had some, but not everyone has them in their toolboxes. Only other tools I needed were a flat head screwdriver, pliers, and a 1/4" wrench.

Just a few minutes to change out. Note that there are tea clip rings one infron and behind the fan. If you break a clip ring, you can.pick new one up at Ace Hardware for $0.79.The dryer would run and stop every few minutes, it was the thermal safety switch in the old motor.Make sure you check the front drum glides/bearing, worn ones cause the motor to work much harder and fail.

A tip to DIYers ithe motor is clipped in the front and it is a half or quarter turn twisted/screwed in to the fan housing in the rear. Must remove fan shroud cover, take off fan blade, then after removing the motors front clip you can take the motor from the fan housing with the twisting action mentioned at first. Remember leftty loosey. Hope this helps out!

Symptom was dryer would have a moderately loud hum and struggle to start when the start button pressed. This motor was a drop-in replacement and fixed the problem. Disassembled failed motor and found worn out contacts inside a centrifugal switch (part of the motor). It was not possible to buy the switch separate from the motor. Also replaced other worn-out parts in the dryer (glides, etc).Update: (Another thought) If your old motor has a steel pulley and the new motor comes with an aluminum/zamac/pot metal pulley, I suggest saving your old pulley for future use. If you look here on Amazon, you will see that the steel pulleys sell for big $$$. If, in the future, you ever have a drum roller seize up, it will wear out the belt AND the zamac pulley on this motor (unless you catch it in time). The motor, itself, has been working great for over a year now.
