Was the right replacement, quick install but we quickly found out that was not the problem. We needed a infinite switch. Would re-order it with confidence if ever needed.

THE GOOD: 1. We were able to replace our burnt smooth top element and it works well, now about 2 months.THE DIFFICULT: 1. Though it is the correct size, correct wattage, correct Whirlpool brand, the wires are connected in a different sequence, thus one must be very, very careful and look UNDER the tab connections to view which color cable goes where, and then rotate the unit (element) to fit it in. Be careful. But it works well. Take phone photos of the current element and wiring before removing it.
