As the ad says, these are "decorative". We wanted something next to our fireplace to look really nice throughout the whole year, so we bought these. They are beautiful! Each one has a little bit of weight to them, but they're not heavy (I can lift one with one hand, and I have arthritic hands). There are two different sizes you get: some are fatter, some are thinner, but they're all the same length. There is no odor to these. Also, they have a "residue" if you hold one (you'll have a little bit of white powder on your hands). They are the exact birch logs we wanted, and we're so glad we bought them that we're considering buying another box (we bought two boxes already). Fast shipping, and the packaging was excellent (carefully boxed, taped, packed). We're delighted with these logs!!

Did I need these? No, no I didn't (we have a gas fireplace). But I wanted them after buying a specific basket that is intended for fire wood. I just knew birch logs would look amazing with the rich color of the basket and the marble fireplace surround. They are just what I was hoping they would be and fit perfectly. They took a while to receive but are worth the wait. Very pleased with my purchase and would recommend for decorative purchases.

There was moisture in the plastic wrap and mold on the ends of the logs. Pictures taken after I tried to clean them. I'll have to get someone to cut then ends off to make them clean. *update a day later.. See for more pictures. So much mold is growing. I'm absolutely disgusted and no time to buy a gift to arrive in time.
