This device definitely does work to sharpen the tips on the dart. The problem is that there's no guide to keep the point at a certain angle. So when you try to sharpen a dart tip it may end up flatter on one side than the other because it's just hard to control the angle and the amount of material that you are filing off. I would say for a moderately inexpensive set of darts this would be fine, but if you're investing 100 to $200 for a pair of really nice darts I would look for a different sharpening tool. For me it's not too bad my kids use it and I buy them cheap darts so they can go ahead and grind away on the tips of those darts.

I used the Barrel Style sharpener for years, thought I’d try this one out. Works awesome!!!The Double Groove Side is Coarse - Single Groove Side is Fine (for the finishing point).Very impressed!See in the picture, right dart is sharpened - left is not.

Great little sharpener to remove burs and sharpen and or scuff the dart to stick in the board more. Recommend. Arrived in a timely manner also. Good job all round.

....und kam super an. Habe selbst ma ne Runde Spitzen geschliffen und das hat 1a funktioniert. Eine Seite is feiner, eine grober. Mein Kumpel hat sich sehr gefreut und alle Darter wollten die Feile gleich ma testen. Praktisch, direkt in der Kneipe zu feiern und zu schenken ;) Ãœber die Haltbarkeit kann ich nix sagen.

Handy little tool to have, darts were almost blunt and falling from the board. This roughs up the edges so they stay in.
