It seems accurate, however it is hard to tell. I enjoy the products functionality, especially with the optionally attachable wire sensor.

I cannot believe it took me so long to purchase one of these. I love to cook and grill/smoke but the damn electric flat top stoves suck, every burner is a different temp even if you put the dial the same position and I am sick of burning things. This guy pinpoints hot and cold spots so quick it has changed my level of cooking. You will never believe how off certain areas on your grills are also. This thing is accurate, easy to use and read plus it has a built-in black light to search for pet mistakes and living in Florida looking for nasty insects and lil critters. The external thermometer is nice too. It gives ambient temperature and humidilty ABSOLUTELY worth the money.

This device has multiple functions. It is an infrared thermometer which allows me to check temperatures of surfaces, including those that are out of reach. I find this useful.It also has a few other functions that make the device even more useful. It gives the ambient temperature. It gives the ambient relative humidity, as well. Both functions can be useful for determining whether a room is properly heated or air conditioned. It gives the dew point, which in my opinion is not particularly useful; still, others might find it useful.It allows you to turn on a laser, which can help you aim for the desired surface. This is useful if the surface is at a distance. Even a slight error can wind up measuring the wrong place, so the laser is helpful.There is also a UV light you can turn on. I don't have any use for that; not sure what it would even be used for. But it's there for those who might want it.This device has a feature that I find really useful, a thermocouple. This is an extension that can be plugged into the device. The thermocouple allows you to measure the temperatures of areas you can reach. The range is from about 40°F to over 900°F (40°C to 500°C).Edit: I had to replace the batteries much sooner than expected. The device came with two AAA batteries. I wondered whether these would be adequate to keep the device running. The answer turns out to be "no." It should have had at least AA batteries, though a decent-sized rechargeable Lithium Ion battery would have been more useful.Overall I am quite pleased with this device. I would recommend it, and I would buy it again.

It is recommended to other Amazon members.I am a geologist and am very concerned about surface temperatures in bright sunshine on black asphalt and white concrete during extreme heat (over 105F ambient temperatures). The surface temperatures can reach 130F to 150F, which will severely burn the paws of healthy dogs.Try putting the palm of your hand on the ground surface for a full seven seconds. If that burns your hands, it will also burn the paws of healthy dogs. This instrument will measure the albedo of black asphalt and white concrete. I need these kinds of accurate data. This instrument will provide me data.

La primera vez que lo use, a la cuarta medición, empezó a mostrar lecturas erroneas. Lo tuve que apagar y utilizar al siguiente dÃa. Hasta el momento no ha dado ese error, pero temo ennque vuelva a fallar. Adicional la medición de temperatura ambiente no es la correcta, en comparación con otro termómetro.

I bought this to measure humidity inside my humidor to avoid opening the humidor. Wasn't accurate and when I opened the humidor and measured, there was no change. Kept reading 55% when the hygrometer read 72%. Worst part is I threw away the box so can't even return it.

Mi serviva uno strumento per misurare temperatura e umidità , con calcolo del punto di rugiada, allo scopo di regolare l'impianto di riscaldamento/raffreddamento/ventilazione ed evitare formazione di condensa e muffe nei punti critici. La precisione, trattandosi di uno strumento estremamente economico per uso domestico, è accettabile; bisogna ovviamente usarlo con cognizione di causa, lasciandogli il tempo necessario per equilibrarsi quando si cambia ambiente, per le misure di umidità , almeno una decina di minuti, e facendo una media con letture multiple. Le luci UV sono praticamente un gadget inutile.
