As an Electrician, I wanted an inexpensive wire tracker/tone generator for work and this product works very well. For the price, which includes a case, I use this product at work and has not disappointed me and make my job easy. There are more expensive on the market, but I recommend this easy to use and dependable wire tracker, cable finder tone generator probe tracer. Works great! Very happy with my selection and purchase.

Doesn't work well, even over short (10-15 ft) distances. Probe produces more static than tone and what tone is available bleeds between individual conductors so badly it is essentially impossible to identify wires.

Good general purpose toner. Generator produces a nice stable and loud signal and the amplifier is very sensitive with a volume control. Good for using a handful of times a year but not for the professional that would use every day. For the price if you drop it or loose it you have not lost much, just purchase another one.
