Plug in the ringer to an electric receptacle inside the house, mount the push buttons by your doors, works fine.

This is just what we needed. My 89 year old father lives with me. His room is downstairs. I really can’t stand anyone yelling up the stairs for me. This is so much better. I keep the receiver under my bed on low. I’m a light sleeper so it wakes me and not my husband. My dad just got over pneumonia so this was vital to have. At first I thought it was wireless. It takes batteries so it threw me off. Apparently you keep it plugged in. When I disconnected it it didn’t work so I’m still wondering about the batteries. This is a must have if you have anyone elderly living with you.

The Globelec Caregiver Pager works fine as long as you are within hearing range of the receiver which needs to be plugged into an AC outlet. The pager comes with a round call button transmitter which measures approximately 2.375" in diameter. The square receiver measures about 2.75" wide and has buttons to control the volume and to select the ring tones (there is a pretty good selection of over 20 tones). The receiver must be plugged into an electrical AC outlet in order to work. The transmitter comes with a lanyard allowing the person to wear the pager around the neck and have it nearby to be able to pressed the call button as needed. The receiver, as it needs to be plugged into an electrical outlet, must be within hear-able distance of the caregiver. Although the volume of the ring is pretty loud, I still find that being tethered to an AC outlet is a problem. I tried to mount the receiver in the AC outlet hear a central area of my house. While testing, I found that the transmitter/receiver working distance is quite adequate for my large 2 story house. However, I found that if I am in a different floor in a room with the door closed, or if I am in a bathroom with the door closed and the ventilation fan on, I sometimes can't hear the ringing of the receiver, even at the highest volume setting. So I have to constantly remember to unplug the receiver from the central location and move it to a nearby AC outlet where I am located so that I won't miss a page. And if I am out in the yard, I am unable to plug it into a nearby outlet and won't be able to hear the ringing of the receiver. In addition the instructions were not very clear on how to replace the battery on the transmitter. You have to slide off the back cover (don't try to pry it open using the tabs) and then after the back cover is off, remove 3 screws to open the 2nd back cover. In short, the Globelec Caregiver Pager is easy to set up and use, but has limitations. The transmitter is convenient to wear about the neck, has good range, and is easy to operate. But due to the plug-in receiver, the pager works best if you are pretty much stationary, or within hearing range of where the receiver is plugged in. I wish that it was a true wireless and portable receiver that I can carry around with me.

I got this for my mom to put the button on her nightstand and the speaker in my bedroom [in the same house], that way if there is an emergency at night she doesn't have to think about finding her phone and dialing my number, she can just press the button and alert me. This things gets loud. There are tons of options for sounds, though I would have prefered less Christmas music. Like a third of the sounds are xmas related. I think I ended up choosing für elise. The sound quality is quite muddy so it's not exactly pleasant, it's basically like a door bell. Don't know how long batteries last in it or dependent on use.

This is a great little gadget. It is perfect for someone who is recovering from surgery or stroke, or anytime someone is in need of support. The button works great and it's easy to set up, even I could do it in about 10 seconds. The ring unit runs on batteries (included) and it has a variety of tunes and volume settings. I like the basic chime, but you can pick from others. The unit is easy for a caregiver to carry with them. I got this to use when I'm upstairs and the patient is downstairs. I live in a small condo and it works great. You will need to check the distance requirements for your own home. The call button is nice, super simple to press and it has a detachable lanyard. This is a wonderful way to add a bit more safety and security to caring for someone at home and it's affordable and easy to use, too.

Too many sounds to choose which makes difficult to select the particular sound. Once the sound is selected, if you unplugged it or loose AC power you lose that sound and have start all over again through the long agonizing process. Just keep the default door bell sound and live with it.

We have a family friend that travels to our home a lot and with them comes his older mother. She gets easily confused especially here where she really hasn't spent a ton of time here to acclimate. This way when she visits, she can hang out in the guest room without feeling overwhelmed and uncomfortable, but still call for help (or reassurance) when she's here. It does a great job getting signal all around my house,
