Works like a charm even with heavy cookbooks. Between our countertop surface being overly smooth and the weight and size of the cookbook, the stand ends up being fully extended each time but was probably the best angle for us anyways. Conversion info is always handy to have right there even when not in use

The stand doesn’t work perfectly so I have to prop it against my backsplash to get it to stand up.

I'm still old fashioned and like to use cook books in the kitchen. As such, a bookholder is essential for the counter. The wood design of this one looks great and adds a heft to make sure it can stand upright and hold the books. The addition of the measurements engraved into the wood is great as well as that's one less thing I have to look up. It doesn't take up too much space and is collapsable so you can put it away if you don't plan on using it for long.I will say that I just noticed that the listing says it comes with 2 aprons but my order did not have those included. I won't knock off stars since that was on me not reading and realizing however be on the lookout for those additions. Overall a great gift or purchase for people that like to cook and still use cookbooks.

I really wanted to love this cookbook holder, but it was not to be.Pros:Easy to assembleVery handy quick measurement guides on the frontCons:Bare wood. There is no varnish or wood treatment on the wood, and it is for the kitchen. Every food splash, oil stain, etc. is going to be memorialized because it will soak right into this untreated wood and over time probably look pretty disgusting.Wood is super lightweight and there is no cord attached between the stand and the board to limit how far back the stand will slide, so when you try to put a cookbook on it with any heft to it, it becomes very unstable. Any little bump or jostle and down it went. I did not try setting a tablet, phone, or pad on it; you might have better luck with light objects, but I would not trust it not to slide or fall if you have to tap or swipe anything.Wood work and construction is shoddy. The stand attachment on the one I got was screwed on slightly crooked, and the wood was scorched in places from poor craftsmanship - see picture.NOTE: I liked the design of this so much and the handy quick measurement guide that I ended up waxing/oiling the wood to protect it, removing the back stand completely, replacing the twine cord with a ribbon that matches my kitchen decor, and hanging it up as a decoration/towel holder in my kitchen.

First of all, I like this quite a bit. I love the measurements on the face and it is good quality.One thing I wish it had, and the lack thereof keeps it at 4 stars for me, is that there is only one angle for holding the book. If you set it up higher, it just moves back flatter. Sometimes given the lighting in my kitchen or lack of space on the counter, I want it to sit up taller and thinner (if that makes sense). If it had this capability, then it would be Awesome with a capital A... as is, it is just somewhat awesome (lower case a).

I got this wood cookbook stand for my daughter who mostly uses her phone to read recipes during her cooking. I knew this would be a great space saver because of its narrow width. I do not think it would be as useful for a large open book or cookbook. The measurements on the board are especially handy to have and I'm sure my daughter will be pleased with that feature. The black metal bar is removable for easy fold-up storage and the bottom of the stand along with the extendable support back leg have nice wide rubber feet to keep the stand in place on the counter. I would highly recommend this cookbook stand for recipes on a single sheet of paper or on an I-pad or cell phone. Or, you could even use it as a very functional (referring to it for measurements) kitchen decoration!

I got this i a while back but wanted to check it all out before writing a review, seriously there was no need, the conversion chart was what I was after and the ability to hold up a recipe book, both are fantastic. It's made of real wood so I only use a damp cloth on it to wash it and dry it immediately. I've had it for a few months and the writing is still as bold as when I bought it, could be due to the care I put into it. Thank you Amazon for such a great product.

This is a nice stand and the conversion chart on it is so helpful. One negative is the dark graining throughout and it has no coating on the wood. I could see this getting stained as it is raw wood.
