These handles arrived in a nice, woven carrying bag, but two out of the five were defective. The machine that pressed on the metal ferrules had crushed the metal, a quality control issue. The metal of the ferrules themselves is extremely thin, which accounts for why the machine that manufactured them could crumple the metal. The term “4.0-7:0†in the product description refers to an assortment of hole sizes into which the tang of the file is inserted, all of which were too large for tangs the 4†and 5†extra slim triangular saw files I was using. The wood of the handles was nicely turned, but the varnish covering them was thickly applied and full of debris, which could easily be sanded off. I returned them due to the defective ones and decided not to reorder because the assortment of hole sizes was too large for the size files I use.

I ordered these for small/short files. The file hole was too large for these 6"-8" saw sharpening files, but a couple of wooden toothpicks solved the problem. These handles are larger and have a much nicer finish than "Nicholson Metal Ferruled Wooden File Handle, Size 4, 3-3/4" ordered previously.

Did the job. The wood can crack as one forces the tools in but the metal ring holds.

Diese Feilen Hefte sollten zweckentfremdet werden. Für mehrere Katzenangeln. Leider konnten nur 3 von den 5 verwendet werden da die beiden anderen schlecht Lackiert waren und das Holz von sehr schlechter Qualität ( möglicherweise schimmel?? ) war. Wurden entsorgt.Leider habe ich in 4 ca. 10km im Umkreis liegenden Baumärkten nichts oder nichts brauchbares gefunden.
