Our five-year-old grandson has a Brio train set of tracks and loves emergency vehicles. He picked this one out himself and just loves playing with it. I didn't expect there to be any sound, but the lead car does have a siren when you press the button on top. The batteries were corroded, so I had to replace them right away. The siren stops on it's own after a bit, so that's a life saver and it's not too loud, like so many kids toys. There is no volume setting on the siren, so if you don't want it going off you need to remove the batteries.

First off I am a Grandma and an Aunty to five toddlers under age 4 I like to have toys on hand for them I purchased 2 sets the firetruck with siren set and the police chase set. I have an off brand wooden train set that was given to me so it didn't have vehicles with it l was looking for some when I came across these. I thought the sets would be wood but they are plastic my mistake I didn't read description well. Pro sets wipe clean easily if your kids play while eating or put things in mouth. Con is that the ladder on the firetruck set and the piece on the front of the firetruck lift up and down and are easily removed and can be lost has happened with the ladder on the set I have. Older kids not a problem but younger toddlers might be a hazard. Pieces do snap back on easily so if you think you might have an issue I say remove the items before you give it to them and put them back on when you feel it won't be an issue or glue them down. I will be buying at least 2 more sets of different vehicles just to have on hand.

The sound did not work. Batteries are corroded. Will replace batteries. Hopefully it will work

It’s a cute plastic toy IMO. Seems like it could last a bit. The light and sound are fun. The issue I have is the hoist that holds the string doesn’t have a handle to roll and unroll. You must use your fingers and thumb to move it and it’s super stiff. My 3 yr old grandson is going to get frustrated and ask me to do it. The people are really cute but it will be difficult for him to place them in the cockpit and basket as well because it was difficult for me. This toy is much more suitable for an older child.
