Needed a way to mark bigger circles than a protractor, this works perfectly.

Very nice tool...works great and is very precise. It is a bit confusing till you figure out to add an inch from the pivot point to set the correct distance desired. Works great!

I got this for my wife who is always asking me to draw circles for her quilting projects. I wasn't sure of the quality of this thing, but when I received it I was pretty surprised. This thing is HEAVY DUTY! And accurate. The wife was impressed too, and that takes a lot. I highly recommend this product for anyone that wants to draw accurate (not giant) circles.

I turn large wood bowls on a lathe as a hobby. I use this to draw out my circles on quarter sawn blankets that I've cut with my chainsaw. This works almost perfect. I love that I can drill a pivot point and anchor this in place. I love that I can use it to draw out bowls of any size I need the only problem I'm running into is the size of the hole that the pencil lead sticks through. It's a tiny hole designed for the tip of a very sharp standard number 2 style pencil. For drawing on paper or smooth wood it works great. I'm trying to draw on rough chainsawed raw wood. A normal pencil either breaks it's sharp tip off instantly or is dull after only a few inches. I am thinking about drilling out each of the holes a touch bigger so a slightly more blunt carpenters pencil will stick in there better so it will write longer before needing sharpening. Overall I think I'll love it once I figure out a resolution for my fairly specific issue.Update: I drilled the pencil holes out to 7/64th. I can now get a more blunt tip of a pencil in it which writes longer on rough wood. It's not perfect and I might have to go a touch larger later.

I used this to trace some circles on the backside of a velcro sheet that I needed to cut. This is quite a fair bit sturdier than regular compass, and has a nice locking mechanism which ensures you don't accidentally lose the radius that you were tracing at. Quality is quite nice, and I like that it includes a build-in holder for the pivot needle.

Exactly what I was expecting. I'd definitely buy again.

This gives you a lot of room to to work to scribe very big circles. I use it to scribe templates for Viking shields.
