We were a bit skeptical about using this on a fiberglass sea kayak, but just had to get ours 300 miles to a final destination. It did great. One stop to add another rope to keep the bow from twisting at expressway speeds that was just a reminder that you can't be too careful. This is a simple, inexpensive item that functioned for us.

Good gear overall but the padding tire a bit when putting it over my roof racks. Should be a way to make that easier to do without having to stretch and pull the foam padding so much.

The foam blocks keep the kayak from touching the car, so there's that. The buckle straps are pretty useless... broke almost immediately.

This kayak carrier was a great find. So easy to attach to my roof-racks. The straps it comes with were ok for the money but not sure how well they'll stand up to time. But good enough if used occasionally. I believe you can use the blocks even without a roof rack system. I needed this because I was adding an additional kayak to my trip and didnt want to spend a lot and this was perfect. The great thing about this system is easy to install and didnt scratch my roof like the “J-hook system did.

Works great to haul multiple kayaks at a single time; I fit two on the roof of my mini-van. I’ve got lots of hours on these now and still work great.Tip: if you get a humming sound from the straps give them a quarter or half turn in each spot that they are parallel to your direction of travel.

Worked on my roof rack ... had to do a little modifing but once I got it up there it really helped to keep my Kayak from moving around.

You’ll have to buy hood attachments but overall great product. I just got roof racks and the foam is still usable with the racks and is made for them as well. Didn’t dent my roof, left some minor scratches, but that’s to be expected. Would not recommend on dark colored cars.
