This vice was exactly what I was looking for. I will fit in your tool box. The mounting clamp max is just over an 1-1/2†so it will attach to a 2x 4. The jaws of the vice itself may open to 3†but that asking a lot.Very satisfied customer.

It's a small vise. It seems sturdy. I found it handy for small projects.

This is a great little vise for small jobs (not that small) and very sturdy. Great for modelers and plenty more. It swivels and can be locked in position with the lever. It also has a pair of magnetic rubber jaws for more delicate use. In my book this is a two thumbs. Highly recommended.

The vise came dirty with some rust. It doesn't look like it was used although I could be wrong. It was easy enough to clean it up so no big deal there. The main issue I have with this is that the jaws are not lined up properly. Uneven force caused by not properly lined jaws make this unusable. There are so many other inexpensive vise that look exactly like this one so perhaps it's worth trying those out. This is definitely not worth it even at the lower price range compared to other premium ones.

nice vise connects to my work bench with no issue and holds things tight. also came with a pair of soft grips to prevent marking things when they are in the vise.
