I was a little leery about buying the cheaper version. Since the name brand is overdouble, the cost not to mention some of the reviews on the cheaper ones claimed it didn't work, but I had the flex boots which came with the cone and I couldn't get it over the cone to save my life. So I ordered this hoping for the best and I was surprised it worked as advertised. 👍

I took a shot on this as I needed to remove and replace a CV boot on my 2011 RAM 1500 4WD. I saw videos of similar products working online and figured I'd give it a try. It arrived and I hooked it up to my compressor and tried to open up a Genuine Mopar outer CV boot for my RAM and it wouldn't even expand the jaws... I also a had an after market Mevotech boot for my ram and it opened it maybe 3/4 of the way before the tool let out a loud hiss and started to leak air. The tool started to leak air from the release button of the tool and would never full open again. I had enough with it and took the axle apart out of the truck and replaced the boot. This is junk other ones aren't probably better unless its from Doorman or Hatzet.

My husband does a lot of repairs on our own equipment. We got this boot expander to make the jobs easier. This works well and saves a lot of time. It did a great job when changing boots on our side by side. It was easy to use and was very affordable.

This works perfect. Slide the boot over the metal rods, use your compressor to put pressure on it and it spreads the small end of the boot open so you can get it over the CV Joint without disassembly. The first boot I tried it did split (it stretches it a long way), seems to work better with the universal fit boots as they are more elastic.
