Out water dispenser had a nast habit of freezing so it would stop working until you used a blow dryer to warm the outside door. Then the fan started to squeal like a mouse so my thought was to replace the motor... well surprise surprise the motor not only eliminated the noise but the fridge is working better across the board. Temps get lower on both sides, but best of all the water line has stopped freezing. So if you have that problem which I had read about on lots of forums you might put in a new fan motor as apparently poor performing ones can impact the water line which I never would have guessed.... but it is the best 15 dollars I've ever spent on a home repair.

Used this to fix a GE side by side with a fan that wouldn't turn. Way way cheaper than a new fridge or a service call! The screws holding the fan are somewhat hard to access so prepare for a little frustration. Doesn't come with the fan itself or the rubber bushings. Worth cleaning the fan blades and inside of the coil while you're in there.Pro tip: While waiting for the new motor to arrive, we left the back cover off and refrigerator out from wall, and pointed a small household fan at the coil. Our makeshift fix had the fridge back to full cooling almost immediately, no spoiled or melted food.

Are refrigerator was not working properly and we were looking at new ones with the same features and configuration. On a whim, I got into the back of our existing one and noticed an accumulation of dust on the cage that protects the coils. I also noticed the fan wasn’t working. I vacuumed and cleaned around the coils, under the fridge, and anywhere else I could see dust. Then I tried to get the fan to go by turning it with my finger. It started to turn but I noticed it was very slow and the blades were hitting against the housing. So I ordered the motor and “adjusted” (muscled) it so that the blades didn’t touch the housing. The refrigerator works great and I’ll be cleaning that area more frequently than… well, that was the first time and the refrigerator is 16+ years old so I’ll be cleaning it every year, I suppose.

Replacement motor fits great just as OEM. But the rpm are double of the original motor. The part number is the same. Item is working great though

Refrigerator repairman quoted $500 to repair our fridge. It was just a fan making noise fixed it for $18. It wasn’t too difficult. It may have taken 20 minutes. It was cumbersome getting underneath the fridge to pull the old fan out and reattach the new one, but it’s worth $500 to me.

We are back in business! I was diagnosing another problem with my water line when I noticed the condenser fan was not moving at all, the motor shaft was seized. I disconnected the wire harness to make sure it was getting voltage and it sure was so I knew I had to replace the motor. Got the part number off the motor and found this as a replacement. As someone else mentioned the shaft was a little longer so the fan was indeed hitting the condenser. I didn’t have to cut it shorter as I was just able to push the fan in further than it’s supposed to. Also, someone else mentioned they had to use the old connector. This new one wasn’t as easy to push in but I was able to with some force. At the end of the day no modifications were needed but you’ll just want to double check your work. All in all for the price I’d recommend this part.
