What's in the box?Two 7.5 oz clear glass gravy boats.Why'd I get them?As we head toward Thanksgiving, there's the inevitable last minute search around the cupboards to find something to hold the gravy (and lots of it). Usually it means cleaning one of the glass measuring cups that you'd be using for cooking although it's the 'odd man out' amongst the turkey, fixings, centre piece of a festive dinner... Last year I even used a metal milk frothing jug but that meant the post dinner coffee involving washing out the gravy so I could steam the milk for the cafe au lait (espresso coffee with steamed milk).Apart from being small?These are aren't huge but they are more than adequate as it's just under 1 cup each. To be honest, actually having two smaller gravy boats means that there's going to one at each end of the table with the turkey and when I do roast beef it means one can hold the port wine jus reduction and the other can hold bearnaise.They'd also be handy for dressings on salads too.Anything else I need to know?Went thru the dishwasher fine and came out sparkling!

These are on the smaller side, but having 2 of them is perfect. I'm not a fan of the fact they're glass (you'd think they'd be ceramic for gravy boats)- but they work fairly well. They're obviously dishwasher safe. They also look like the sort of vessel that you would find dressing in at a banquet. They looked great at my dinner table. They're a decent price for the money as well.

These gravy dishes are just what I was looking for. I wanted something that would hold gravy, sauces, etc., without taking up too much space on the table. Since there are two in the set, I can put one on each end of the family table and everyone can reach the gravy. Or, I can serve two types of sauce or dressing.They've held up well in the dishwasher. They're stackable if you turn the top one 180 degrees, thus saving storage space.The price is fair for a set of two. With a classic shape and clear glass that works with all decor, this set would make a fine addition to any table, or a lovely housewarming or wedding gift.
