The cover doesn’t sit on there very tight. You have to remove it when pouring gravy. But I didn’t buy it for gravy. I bought it to warm up my butter concoction for my crab and lobster dip and the cover keeps the butter from splattering in my microwave, so I microwave the butter, etc. and then I put it on the warming plate And it keeps it hot. I think it gets hot enough that you don’t even have to microwave the butter, but I don’t start prepping the butter until after I’ve cracked all the crab legs because that takes time. Sometimes I think it gets a little too hot but it works well. Is dishwasher and microwave safe of course not the heater pad. But I would definitely buy it again if it broke.

The gravy warmer does a good job keeping the gravy and sauces warm until they can be served along with dinner. I’ve left the warmer on for a few hours at a time and my gravy doesn’t crust over. It doesn’t keepIt piping hot, if that’s what you are looking for but it’s warm enough for my preferences.One thing I am not too crazy about is the gravy boat. I find it bulky and hard to clean without sticking it in the dishwasher. The good thing about it is that you don’t necessarily have to use the gravy boat that comes with it. Any heat resistant container will do since the bottom piece that heats up is flat. I use it to melt butter for baking and to keep my coffee warm sometimes. I put my stainless steel mixing bowl with the butter directly on top of it until the butter is melted.Setting up the warmer is as simple as plugging it in. One thing that would make it even better is if they add in an off/off button but for the price, it’s a good product that does its advertised function well. There are no bells and whistles but it works.

It’s poorly made and the base was broken exposing the really poor interior construction. A good idea wasted on a cheap device.

Smaller than anticipated. The trick to keeping it full is to put the extra gravy in a covered tumbler next to it and refill often.

A bit more expensive but works well and a great addition to the dinner table. The gravy and sauces keep warm after detaching the cord. Looks very elegant and the gravy boat and lid are dishwasher safe.
