Product works great with the exception one of the eight I received had the relay screw terminal mounted backwards. There was no way to make a connection. Fix was simple, de-solder the screw terminal, turn it around and re-solder. Other than that, I would recommend this product.

This is useful for a break-beam circuit and can also be used for open/shut detector or many other light sensitive circuits. The adjusting resistor could be a bit more precise, however it works fine. You can also substitute different photocells (light sensitive cells, cds cells, etc) to allow for use in lower light situations or for use where the light source will be more distant from the detector, and you can locate the unit a great distance from the detector piece if needed. Seller very good to deal with.

Like the quality and ease of use. Photo sensor has 12" lead for remote mounting, longer available or could just splice in some 20 gauge wire. Circuit board has small writing denoting relay outputs and power inputs. There were NO instructions but I am familiar with electronics so no problem for me. When power on there is a lighted red LED and relay off another blue LED. When relay activated by light the blue relay goes out and red remains on always as long as power to board. Nice feature is the variable resistor pot that can tune the amount of light needed to turn on the relay. Relay is SPDT so can decide if you want the relay to turn something on or off with light on sensor. Do not know how long it will last but will protect board from elements so will see.

These may work well for bright light to no light but in between (like the transition from day to night) these rapidly oscillate until the ambient light gets dark enough.

These are good working light sensors. Unfortunately I wanted ones that turn the current on when dark, these only connect the current in daylight so no good to me. But they are well made and fit for the purpose they are intended for.

These devices will mostly be used to turn something on or off during the transition from day to night. However, the potentiometer is extremely sensitive around about the crossover point and This makes it very hard to get the exact resistance for the crossover point.A different pot value would be better.A little bit of hysteresis would be good to stop it oscillating.Apart from that a great device. Will be buying more.(When closed this device consumes 30mA @ 12v, when open ~2mA @ 12v)
