After 15 years of continuous running 24/7/365, our original pump burned up when a pipe broke and drained water below the pump line. We hesitated buying the XtremePowerUS, but glad we did now. It was super easy to install, has plenty of power to filter our 17K gallon pool and is very quiet on BOTH speeds. We only run on low because we leave our pool open year 'round, which means, the pump never stops! As with our oringal 2-speed pump, running on low hardly makes a dent in our electric bill. So far, this has been as good a workhorse as our more expensive, though no longer made, original pump. We will be buying a second one as a backup so we don't get caught short again.

Installed three years ago on an inground 10,000 gallon pool. Wiring is 110v. No hardwiring needed because I had a gfi plug right where I was putting the pump. Plumbing was standard sizes, one trip to Lowe's made everything work.Way quieter than the Hayward it replaced at high-speed. I can barely hear it 50 yards away. Plus the low-speed is whisper quiet.About five times the GFI has tripped at that plug, but there is an electric robot plugged in also to it so I'm not sure which one does it. I would say my pool is a harsh environment. I get a lot of pine needles that can totally block off the skimmer which puts a lot of air in the lines. The high-speed has enough pressure to push the air through, but the low-speed does not so my filter gets filled with three-quarter full air. Eventually I will get a safety cover that will keep leaves out of the pool and I will be able to use the low-speed all the time and save money. The power / hi-low speed button was placed on the bottom which is probably good for water resistance, but is not the best position with all the spiders in my yard. They should have included a rubber mallet to take off the leaf trap lid. It gets pretty stuck on there and the lid only has a small plastic piece that comes out to grab onto. I waited three years to do this review so I would know if it was a good value or not. It is still working, so my experience is it was a good value. A $600 Hayward lasts about 10 years, this one's made it 1/3 of that and was less than $200.

Worked good for a year and a half, then would not hold a prime. Pretty worthless after that. Redid the fittings, checked for leaks, but could not get the pump to run.

Just installed this yesterday so too early for long term review but was supper easy to install. Just had to level up with existing plumbing and glue together. Started first time very quiet. I have to walk over to it to here it run. Even quieter on low speed. Onlylol pulled 9.6 amps on high speed and3.7 amps on low speed. Much less than old pump. Pump arrived early in good shape. So far so good.Update 1/17/20Still working fine. Amps still the same.5/25/24 Still working great. Runs 5-6 hours a day.

This horse and a half pump creates less pressure than my original Pentair Whisperflo one horse pump. That said, it’s a fraction of the price and reasonably quiet. I bought an extended warranty to be safe but so far, it’s doing fine. I did have to make some installation modifications to get the pump to line up with the existing pipes. I bolted about an inch and a half of composite material to the concrete platform to raise this physically smaller pump to accomplish this alignment. I also added quarter turn shutoff valves and unions in both the feed and return lines. This makes cleaning the pump basket much easier by maintaining water in the lines when I remove the pump lid. I can also remove and replace the pump should that become necessary for repair or replacement.

I'll admit I couldn't figure out how to wire this up. Maybe because I was coming from a single speed pump to this dual speed pump. The old had L1 and L2 connections. This has a few due to the speed switch. I could explain what the new has but to keep it simple, just hook up one hot wire to were the diagram on the pump says 'Line' and hook up the other hot wire to where the diagram says 'Line' on the speed select switch. Hook up ground. Done with electrical. It's not the most accessible connector design but doable. A trip to home depot for pvc fittings and glue and you are about all set for water connections. The pipe fittings were very similar in location to my old pentair pump. I had to put a stepping stone under this pump to make it match real good, position wise. Also, glad to report, this pump is a 1.5 HP. It is Model 75156. It says so on pump, and I talked to manufacturer who confirmed. Here is number for them: 9094449093. Tell them you bought from amazon and the person they let you talk to is outstanding. She explained how to hook up wires and gave me some good advice, including looking up on you tube 'How to grease Hayward pump bearings'. Yes Hayward. Apparently they are similar. Also keep pump out of direct sun and out of direct rain/elements. By the way, the foot stand is 7" X 12", I think someone wanted that info. Finally, I am liking the two speeds. The switch design is fine I think. The noise is way less in low speed mode, and I'm sure the electrical bill will go down. I hope I don't need high speed except for vacuuming. Well, it was a pain getting that manufacturer telephone number, so I hope you click 'helpful' on this review. I have to report that the plastic cover that the covers the electrical connections was broken upon arrival but I'm sure the seller will replace it for free as I sent a notice in today and left him a voicemail. If not I'll let you all know. Thanks and enjoy your pump.

Overall A good value well made pump. Except the lid doesn't seal right. Tried several times and it still has a steady leak. About 6 drops a second.
