I wish I could review the original Xtremepower US Solar Pool Purifier / Ionizer I purchased three years ago but its too late. However, I can still review the replacement Anodes Copper & Screen Basket Kit. The first two years we had the pool, we struggled unsuccessfully to keep the algae at bay scrubbing the pool walls, upping the chlorine dosage along with adding chemical algaecides. All that work and we still had algae blooms; the added chlorine and algaecides made the pool water smelly and foamy, which lowered the appeal of an inviting swim. Getting ready for the third season, I came across the XtremepowerUS Solar Pool Ionizer. At the time I though it was a little pricy but decided to give it a try as it had to be better than what we were doing; OMG what a difference it has made. We use less chlorine now and no more chemical algaecides, our pool water is Chrystal clear and so inviting now!The copper anodes last about a season and a half for us so I always keep one on hand. I found that if you remove the basket and flush the copper element, it seems to work better and last longer. This item worked great! Cleared up my pool and had sparkling clean water all season. This season...nothing. i purchased a replacement anode just to make sure everything would be ready for summer....my pool is the darkest green almost black and no copper is in the water. 2 weeks now of trying to remedy it. so sad. I just purchased another ionizer and hopefully, it will arrive soon and fix my problem.... I miss my pool on these 110 degree days.
