I received this product, unfortunately the 12 inch one was defective. I contacted the seller through Amazon.They took prompt action on my request for replacement. They communicated with me until I received the replacement part free of charge. I am very happy with the product and also VERY happy with the customer service I received.

These extensions make it very easy to dig an adequate post hole for the standard 8' post. The powerhead with a standard auger attached will take you down to approximately 28-30", depending on how close you get the powerhead to the soil level. As suggested in the operator's manual for the Xtremepower one-man auger, it is best to use the standard auger to bore the hole, then add the required extension to dig the hole to full depth and make a second pass. A word of advice, use the SHORTEST extension that will do the job. I initially used the 12" extension to go to full depth, but you can get a tremendous amount of extra soil weight and friction by doing this. The 8" extension did the job just fine, with much less "weight lifting". They seem well enough made, and come with a pin and cotter key (which I immediately swapped out for a hitch pin clip). These extensions make your auger much more useful, for a reasonable price.
