I own several camera tripods but wanted to get something for my lights that might be lighter and compact. Upon receipt, I found this to be quite functional and enjoyed using the locks on both the lower legs and the pole extension. The included ball head assembly gives you a lot of flexibility in its use. The tripod is solid for its size, but I would not suggest using anything much heavier than a small camera with a lighter weight lens. As advertised, it should function well with lights, smaller camcorders, and cell phone use. The only issue I had with it upon receipt, is that it might have been a bit overpriced for what it was. Otherwise, it did function as advertised.

I picked up the XXZU Photography Light Stand with ball head and phone clip to be used in my studio. In the box, you receive: the tripod, carry bag, phone ball head, and phone clip. The tripod extends up to 6.9' (83") in height, is extremely light-weight and can hold up to 4lbs, perfect for most portable lighting solutions.I just received Ulanzi's Light Stand and in comparison to the XXZU, I prefer this one! Ulanzi's doesn't come with a bag, phone clamp, nor ball-head for a similar price. Also, the XXZU is narrower and goes higher (Ulanzi extends to 6.3').Overall, if you're looking for a bring-with you portable light stand that's low-profile and can hold most lights, then I'd definitely consider picking up the XXZU Photo Light Stand.

Overall, the build quality on this is decent, it's honestly pretty good for the price. If you have smaller lights, I would pick one of these up. If you have heavier bowens mount lights then I would probably look for something sturdier. But if you're using it for a smaller practical light or with a small light to only film yourself then this is a nice option. I wasn't a huge fan of the ball head they packaged in but you're using it to mount a phone or a tiny camera then it should be fine.

This 83in/6.9ft Multifunctional all in one tripod/light stand by XXZU is of high quality! This product is nicely designed. It is made of a very strong and durable aluminum alloy and features quick adjusting legs that have 3 flexible height adjustment options with one being low profile which isn't something found in just any light stand or even tripod for that matter which is great. This beauty is light weight and is equipt with a very innovative multifunctional tripod head. The design of this alloy ball head allows you to quickly transform it from accommodating your DSLR to becoming a smart phone holder which I absolutely love. So no more having to store and switch between two different ball heads or QR plates. The ball head even has an extra 1/4" thread hole for an additional attachment such as an NP battery plate or magic arm.Overall I'm very pleased with the design, build quality, versatility, portability and most of all it's price point which makes it of great value in more ways than one!

Ok this is fairly decent and compact for what it is. Granted, traditional light stands aren't that much bigger, but those traditional cheapo stands are almost disposable. You can tell they're disposable by having a single bolt through the baby pin, which always comes loose and you can't re tighten it...but this stand at least has SCREWS...so you can tighten it. I wish it was a removable baby pin with a tension knob, but I guess those are for the full sized higher end stands :(So while I'm not thrilled at the single nut/axis through the baby pin always causing a rocking motion as it gets loose...at least you can fix this one with the screw driver mount. It's fairly tall for a lightweight stand, but of course, use common sense. This won't cut it for 300w cobb lights and is mainly meant for low powered LEDs but better suited for flash units. The tripod head is passable for photographers, but obviously is not a fluid head for video, but that should be common sense. It's good to adjust the legs extent for more sturdy support which traditional stands don't have, so combined with the small form factor, this is a pretty nice option.

Sturdy construction with quality metal fittings, this worked beautifully with both light fittings I own and my camera. I was really impressed at how easy this was to use (now I just have to figure out how to put it back in the bag) it was very simple to set up. I love the fact that it came with the ball head, there isn't a quick release like I have on my more expensive version, but for what I had planned to use this for it is fine. I really like the fact that the legs are so adjustable both in width and heights. The feet were a little bit slippy on my glossy tiles but on every other surface I tried they were great. Overall I'm really impressed with the quality for the price and would absolutely buy this again.
