As a photographer and videographer who frequently works both in the studio and on location, I'm always on the lookout for reliable and versatile equipment. The Ulanzi T270 Light Stand has quickly become a staple in my kit. What immediately struck me was the build quality. Constructed from aluminum alloy, it feels remarkably sturdy and durable, especially considering its lightweight design. This makes it a fantastic option for travel or situations where portability is key.The stand features a 5-section center column that utilizes quick-flip locks, allowing for a wide range of height adjustments. I can easily go from a low position for close-up shots to a towering 8.8 feet for overhead lighting or dramatic effects. The quick-flip locks are secure and easy to operate, even with one hand. The 1/4" screw mount is standard and compatible with all my lighting equipment, from speedlights to studio strobes.Stability is always a concern with taller light stands, but the Ulanzi T270 addresses this with its wide leg base. The legs also feature rubber feet that provide excellent grip on various surfaces, both indoors and outdoors. Even at full extension with a moderately heavy light, I haven't experienced any wobbling or concerns about tipping. Keep In mind that you do need some counter weight at the base for heavier lights just to be safe. When it comes to portability, the Ulanzi T270 truly shines. It folds down compactly to just over 2 feet in length, making it easy to store and transport. Also it is much lighter than it looks thanks to all aluminum build. Inclusion of the carrying bag would have been nice for added protection, but it is not a deal breakerOverall, I'm extremely impressed with the Ulanzi T270 Light Stand. It offers a fantastic combination of durability, versatility, portability, and affordability. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned professional, this light stand is definitely worth considering.

We have a lot of stabilization and support inventory in the studio, but there is ALWAYS a need for TALLER, STEADIER, and STRONGER. When this ULANZI T270 lightstand became available at AMAZON I ordered one right away. This is an EIGHT FOOT EIGHT INCH (270 centimeter) lightstand with TWO-SECTION WIDE-LEG traction and ADJUSTABLE NEGATIVE-DEGREE LEGS at the push of a button! The center column has FIVE extension segments, rather than the three on some other units. The stability and durability of this stand are impressive – it supports SIX KILOS (THIRTEEN POUNDS, FOUR OUNCES!) of attached equipment weight meaning our heaviest LED light panels or ANY of our Monolights are safe without any other support. We used to use two lightstands with a bridge bar to support one of the seven-foot panels. Three panels with SIX lightstands quickly took over the shooting space in Studio B (The BIG One!)Using the height advantage of the T270 means we can quickly switch from low-angle shots, thanks to those ADJUSTABLE NEGATIVE-DEGREE legs, to ELEVATED lighting setups literally in minutes. High to low, including Negative-Leg angles makes workflow much smoother. And setups and breakdowns are less complicated with a SINGLE high or low point source easily selected for our key light. From that point, the fill light, hair light, and background light are easily metered to complete the staging and determine exposure. The portability of this lightstand is another solid attribute. It folds down to a compact 23 inches and 2.8 pounds, making it easy to attach to a camera roller bag or backpack to carry during location shoots. The quick-release level lock and adjustable leg angles let you set up on uneven terrain safely and without risk to talent or equipment. Plus, the universal 1/4-inch 20 threaded tripod screw mount assures instant compatibility with all of our photography and support equipment. In the studio, on location, or out in the field for a LIVE shoot, this quality ULANZI T270 lightstand has proven to be reliable, versatile, sturdy, and TALL! Hard to ask for MORE than that from ANY light stand, but THIS one has even MORE to give you.It is available at AMAZON right NOW (February 2025) for $59.99!This AMAZON VINE Review of the ULANZI T720 Lightstand is FIVE STARS!Thanks, AMAZON!Mark in North Carolina

This is in many ways a well-made, versatile stand. The legs are wide and adjustable to account for uneven surfaces. All extensions use positive, easy to use clamps that do a good job of staying put.It is not, however, suitable for use with heavy lights/modifiers at anything like full extension because it doesn't have the rigidity that a stand with longer one-piece legs of similar materials could offer.

I recently picked up the ULANZI T270 Light Stand, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my photo and video setup. I’m using it to mount my Neewer CB 200 studio light, and I’m really impressed with how stable it is. The stand feels solid and holds the light perfectly in place, even when I adjust the height. The 8.8ft (270cm) reach is great for getting the perfect angle for my shoots, and I love how easy it is to adjust the height whether I’m working with a softbox or just need to position my light a little higher, it’s super smooth. The aluminum build is lightweight yet sturdy enough to support heavier equipment like my studio light without wobbling or tipping. I’ve used it for a few different shoots now, and it’s held up really well. It’s also surprisingly portable, so I can break it down and take it on location if I need to.Overall, this light stand is a great deal for anyone who needs a reliable, adjustable, and stable option for their studio lighting. It’s been perfect for my setup and is definitely worth the investment. Highly recommend it!
