Four stars because they are a good string and will preserve the timbre and intonation of my Yamaha NCX1200 classical guitar as set up from the factory.These are identical in tension, gauge (diameter), and stiffness to the strings shipping on Yamaha classical guitars.They work well on my Yamaha NCX1200 and better than more commonly available standard/medium/normal tension strings from other makers such as D'Addario.I did measurements using a caliper along with data from the Yamaha FAQ on the factory strings and determined they match the string tension, gauge (diameter), and stiffness for which the nut slot widths, the apparent scale length, the top bracing, and the bridge saddle compensation were set at the factory. I've looked for other more commonly available strings from D'Addario, Savarez, Thomastik, and others that match the tension, gauge, and stiffness without finding a close match to the factory strings.At some point in the future, I may decide to change the strings I use to get a better voice and projection but that will require work by a qualified luthier to make the necessary modifications to the nut, bridge saddle, compensation, and possibly internal bracing for a different string tension, gauge, and stiffness to get the best voice and intonation. For the time being, these are the best match to the factory setup.

These are the only strings I would put on my Yamaha C45MA Acoustic Classical Guitar. I really like that they are the same strings installed at the factory.

This product will work for my purposes. If you are more experienced, these strings my not be durable enough. They are nylon and silver wrapped which gives a great look and a better feel. As far as sound and quality go, more will be revealed.
