I am a sousaphonist living in NYC. This mute has revolutionized my ability to play. Now, instead of having to pay $$$ for practice studio rentals, or go stand in the park on a nice day, I can play my tuba at home any hour of the day without disturbing my neighbors. The horn can still be heard by my roommates with the mute in, but the volume is at a reasonable level. I have also used Silent Brass system on other horns (trombone and trumpet) and was very pleased with the results. The price tag is hefty for the tuba Silent Brass, but I cannot recommend it enough. It's a worthwhile investment in order to be able to have the ability to practice in my apartment whenever I want!

Absolutely love this product. My son can practice in the morning before school and in the evening without disturbing our neighbors. I can also have one of my kids working homework and another playing his tuba... in the same room!

As a tuba player in college who is living on campus it's nice to have this so my hall mates don't totally hate me
