The sound on my LG tv is much improved. I really like the movie and clear voice, they both work really well, over all a good unit for the price.

Great sound for the money and much better sound compared to any TV speakers. The "Clear Voice" really beings out the voices more clearly and was quite surprised how well it works with movies. Very easy to hook up to enjoy great rich sound.

If you want good clear sound, This is the one to buy! Crystal clear when watching movies, shows, news, music. I'm hard of hearing & wear two hearing aids. This has a setting to make speech clearer & extra bass or you can remove some of the bass from loud movies when using the app on your phone. You can also add a sub woofer if you want to, but believe me you don't really need it unless you one of these people who likes to shake the walls when your TV is on.

Bought this to replace a dying bose soundbar. It's good, but not bose good. Best sound is when sittinng centered. It loses quality when sitting off to a side.. it can lack some clarity depending on show or channel.

Nice Sound bar from Yamaha. I bought this for my 87 year old mother with hearing problems and the Clear voice feature is great. Huge difference between this and the tv speakers. Highly recommend this product! Easy one cable hookup that is supplied with the sound bar. Comes on and off with the tv remote.

First, I'll start by saying that this is the first soundbar I've ever owned, so I don't have a prior soundbar to compare this to. What I did have previously, was a 7.2 surround sound component system, built over the years with seven independent full range speakers, two 10-inch subwoofers, and four tactile transducers installed in the seating. My wife put her foot down and told me to choose the surround system or her. So out of the house I packed my surround system. Most of it, anyway.I purchased the SR-B30A, specifically because this model includes a subwoofer pre-out port. I had invested a great deal of time, energy and effort to get the tactile transducers setup and balanced with the subwoofers, and I didn't want to loose that. For me, the most immersive aspect of the system I had before, was always the way that you could really feel the low end. I knew that no soundbar with a wireless sub was going to be able to come close to delivering that for me, so Yamaha had me sold on this aspect principally, but I also wanted to experience Atmos in my home. In this regard, the SR-B30A was really the only choice I saw for myself. Even if I had spent three, four or even more, times the money I would always feel that I was missing out. This being said, the spacial aspect of the sound that the bar produces doesn't compare to what I had with the seven separate speakers on stands and mounted to walls around the room. Those seven speakers are what my wife hated, and I didn't expect a 2.1 speaker arrangement to be able to replicate that. I am, however, impressed with how well dispersed the sound is, when playing back Dolby Atmos and surround sound source material. If Yamaha can do this with just the 2.1 speakers, I can only imagine the awesomeness that could happen were they to expand the number of speakers with different angled mountings. Yeah, more speakers would necessitate a higher price tag, but I'd pay it. There are speakerbars out there that are selling for around $1K.There are a couple of weak points, but nothing that would cause me to knock any stars off; your situation may be different though. The app for adjusting the settings of the bar is really basic. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's there, but coming from a home theater receiver with loads of crossover and room correction adjustments available, what is offered by the app seems geared to those without much audio equipment experience. The app also needs to be reconnected to the speakerbar most times after you switch apps or close it. A way to connect some Bluetooth headphones to the bar for late night listening would be a good feature too.Speaking of Bluetooth, one thing that I hadn't need expecting, was that I'm unable to utilize the Bluetooth source when the TV is on. I suspect that this is due to me using my TV's eARC CEC for control of the basic power and volume functions of the speakerbar. I have Spotify and the other streaming services available through my TV already, so it isn't a problem for me. Just unexpected. All told, I'm very pleased with what I got from the SR-B30A. Not the downgrade I thought it would be!

the manufacture either didnt ship a remote or it was stolen because the package didnt have any factory seals on it. so it could have been stolen at amazon or yamaha or they didnt ship one from the factory. seems to work ok with roku remote but i paid for a yamaha remote. i did have amazon use its stealth packaging which hide the contents. the sound from the bar is ok for volume voices included but sounds a bit compressed in the midrange.

As with past Yamaha sound bars and receivers I have owned this product is great. Using with bedroom TV and ups the sound and bass quality substantially. Perfect slim design which is what I needed as well. Highly recommend.

I purchased this Yamaha soundbar and subwoofer to replace an LG model I picked up a few years ago. The LG never really sounded loud enough, although rated at 300W, even when cranked to full volume. It also emitted a random and very annoying popping and staticky noise from the subwoofer regardless of all efforts to fix it. This Yamaha system delivers crisp, rich, clean sound. Using the provided ARC cable makes it a snap to use volume control, on/off without the need to add optical or other cables, using just my TV’s universal remote. No programming required. I hooked up Spotify on my cellphone via Bluetooth to the soundbar with absolutely no problem and the sound & connection are flawless. The soundbar sits conveniently in front of the TV on the cabinet unit with the wireless subwoofer a few feet away on the floor. Hardware is also included if you choose to wall mount the soundbar. I’m more than happy with sound and build quality of this unit - it’s a Yamaha - I shouldn’t be surprised. Ease of setup was surprising as well. I’m a tech-illiterate 71 year old and everything came together without a hitch. There’s also an available downloadable Yamaha app which is handy for some fine tuning. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this unit to anyone.

This soundbar and sub is excellent for the price point. The bass is more than adequate for my 12 x 15 living room, and the overall sound quality is what you'd expect from Yamaha. Setup was very easy. The sub is wireless, so it's just a matter of connecting the soundbar to your TV, and you're good to go. While it comes with a remote, the smartphone app is quite handy. This system has greatly improved our viewing and listening experience without having to spend a small fortune.
