Does not slip out of the safety thing, very versatile dumbbells as it can be used for many things. Quality is nice and is good for price. And good for building muscle. Only thing I would say is the grip hurts your hands sometimes if you have soft hands. Other than that, I would recommend it.

I got hurt using this because the middle bar forces an awkward grip for my shoulder width. I dont recommend using this if you have broad shoulders. I recommend getting a bigger bar with more grip space. My elbow injury is still going on nearly 3 months now. The dumb bells are fine. The combination of weights this comes with are fine. It is sturdy. The 1 star review is based on my personal experience with this item. I can do 2 sets of 25 sit ups hanging upside down from my legs. I am not weak, nor new to weight training. I bought these as a replacement to my previous weights which broke and I am fine with them. Please be careful if you have wide shoulders, and don't expect this to be a good barbell substitution like I did.
