We got this for our first year oboist who kept breaking reeds in the case. So far - no more accidentally broken reeds. It stays shut, but is easy to open. Her oboe teacher said it was a nice case.

Very happy that I bought this reed case. It looks great and seems to be very well made - works well. Now that I have it, though, I wish I'd purchased one from the same manufacturer that holds a larger number of reeds. I may still do that. But, if you only need to store 3 reeds, definitely buy this one!

Magnet closure works well, holds 3 reeds. Be sure your reeds are tucked in right so the lid doesn't chop the Reed tips.

It fits in my oboe case, has some indentations on the sides of the top part for ventilation, holds reeds firmly but gently in place, and has a soft lining. Easily opens and closes, stays shut when closed. Also the wood looks really classy. I love it!
