I recently installed the YoLink Home Water Leak Monitor, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. This device is incredibly easy to set up and connects seamlessly to my smartphone. The real-time alerts are a game-changer, notifying me instantly if any leaks are detected. The build quality is solid, and it’s compact enough to fit in tight spaces. I love that I can monitor my home even when I'm away, which gives me great peace of mind. Overall, this is a must-have for anyone looking to protect their home from water damage. Highly recommend!

This was my first purchase from YoLink: a bunch of water leak detectors. Since then I added two "auto" garage door closers (if somebody forgets and leaves the door open), a camera, and other stuff. I have been super happy with the setup, operation, and customer support. At the beginning I needed some hand holding.I wrote software for 40 years and want to comment on a couple things. First, YoLink has successfully NOT put in every feature any customer has ever requested. Look at Word or Excel to see a bloated app. YoLink is simple and logical without a bunch of confusing bells and whistles the average user does not need. Second, the software is ROBUST. When something goes wrong - like your power goes out or your wifi fails - the system comes back 'up' reliably.I like it. --jim

The YoLink Smart Home Starter Kit has been a fantastic addition to my home! Setting it up was quick and easy, and the app is user-friendly, making it simple to manage all the devices from my phone. The kit includes everything you need to get started with home automation—smart plugs, sensors, and more, all of which integrate seamlessly into my home network. Not only do I enjoy the convenience of controlling everything remotely, but I also got a discount on my homeowner's insurance for installing these devices. It’s great to know that my home is safer, and the insurance savings are just an added bonus! If you’re looking to upgrade your home with smart technology while saving on insurance, I highly recommend the YoLink Smart Home Starter Kit!

Update. Every day (sometimes, every two days) my water detection sensors will go offline. No explanation. I have the home unit directly plugged into my router so it's not a WiFi problem. This requires me to go find each sensor and push its bottom button to get back online. There is a lot of chatter about this online as it is a fairly well known problem. At least I get e-mail notifications when they go offline.Update again. I added 2 stars to my original negative review because the original going offline problem just stopped. I think a microcode update fixed it as my 4 sensors have not gone offline in a couple of months.Original review follows:I ordered the 4-pack of this device. I like the fact that the remote sensors communicate with the base unit using LoRa (Long Range) protocol. The base unit must be connected to your home router. The unit has a internet cable but you could connect the base unit via WiFi. I have enough devices hogging my bandwidth as is (at least 5). So, I was happy they supplied a cat 5 cable to direct connect (the base unit only, the sensors are LoRa wireless and have good range). So I placed each of the remote water sensors in my basement near my clothes washer and my hot water heater. Installation is very easy with it only taking me about 10 minutes. You must download the YoLink app from the Play store or Apple store. There is no app for standard PC's, just Android and IOS, so your phone or tablet is used. The remote sensors come with batteries installed but future replacements are more difficult than they should be. They appear to use AAA batteries (X2) each unit but requires tweezers and a screwdriver to open up the case. I hope the batteries last quite a few months. Various claims of 2 to up to 5 years of battery use can be found online. At least they're not button batteries.

Update after several months:These properly alerted when the sump pump failed during recent heavy rains and water started rising. One sensor was submerged while we bailed with buckets, then it continued to operate after. The battery in the submerged unit needed to be replaced, but it was working well for 6 months. When added to my iPhone as a priority notification, I received notice at night through the "sleep" mode of my watch. So far - so good.I bought the hub, water sensor 1 multi-pack to monitor an area in the basement; and a plug with plans to automate an auxiliary pump. Out the box, the products appear well made and reasonably sturdy. The setup process was simple; and the app is quite intuitive. I am using the Ethernet interface to avoid dependencies on WiFi. Communications with sensors appears nearly instant at my operating distance of about 30 feet - binding the sensor to the hub: click, done. The water sensor 1 device is well designed. With sensors on top or two on bottom it easily detected water once enough water was present between contacts - that was a few drops for the testing on top and a bit more, but still a small amount for the floor/bottom tests. The status returned to normal within seconds of drying off the sensor. The plug turns on/off promptly - and the app integration thoughtfully includes both basic scheduled and timer events.App features and SMS messages make notification simple. In my situation of monitoring for leaks, the few included SMS are more than enough. Integration with Alexa was simple. The online manuals in the support web site are detailed and easy to read. While it wasn't necessary to go beyond the printed Quick Start to use the sensor/plug, the details in the online manual would have answered most question easily.

This took around 10 minutes to set up, very intuitive. Extremely good value and I now have a sensor in laundry, 2 baths, and kitchen which at least gives some peace of mind. I tested it with alerts and the sensor flashes on the unit but also sends email. Very impressed. I have Sinope and they are the similar quality but the price would only buy one unit!

After comparing with other brands, I found these water sensors to be the best. The best feature is that when there is water detected, it not only sounds an alarm, but the app sends out both an email and text message. The other brands do not send text messages. If I am away from home, getting a text message is the best way to be alerted.

Bought this set a few year's ago. And still, every thing is working well.Pros - response time is great, drip water on sensor and I get a notification on my phone near instantly! Battery life is great, a couple years on and they are working great, I test them a few times a year to be sure. Hackable, I opened one up an soldered on some wires to extend the sense location, I put a little piece of sponge on the end of a twisted pair of wires, tinned for corrosion resistance, and I was able to position it at a level just above my sump pump water level, if my sump pump fails I should be notified if the level rises another inch or so. These sensors worked so well I branched out to other devices. I now have the garage door sensor and controller and the temp/humidity sensor. The hub even acts as a power sensor as when the power goes out the hub goes offline and I get a notification.Cons - the app is a little weird, but not bad. Just not super intuitive. But I have managed to get everything set up on my phone, and my wife's phone (Apple phones, I don't have android experience with the app.
