I needed to make a replacement cabinet door with rails and stiles. Although this was my first attempt at doing this, I was amazed how well these router bits performed. I practiced with them on scrap pine wood to make sure I was doing it right then transitioned to oak and the door is beautiful.

These bits are pretty decent for the price. I ran enough oak for around 20 doors. I made 2 passes per bit recommendation of 1/4" cuts. I found that they worked better with 13/16" wood for the round over portion. The rail bit tended to burn the wood and had a lot of wood blow out unless you backed it up with another piece of wood. The stile bit ran a lot smoother and worked better, obviously end grain cuts are a bit harder. They seem to be pretty decent quality for the price. My center panels were made of 1/4" oak veneer mdf. They fit fairly tight. I based my 4 star review mainly on price you can buy 3 sets of these for the price of some other brands.

These are somewhat tricky to set up and use. I had to settle for this profile as it was as close as I could get. The problem is in finding the right combination of router speed and material feed speed to be able to make accurate rail and stile cuts. I got these because they were 1/4" shank. After figuring out that I couldn't get a good cut with the older Craftsman router (the chuck would let the bit slip and the high speed introduced a significant vibration), I bought a Bosch router. It did a much better job. However, had I known what I do now, I would have looked for 1/2" shank bits as the Bosch router can use either and the 1/2" shank would probably be more stable. That being said, I am overall pleased with these bits. The cabinet door I made looks good and the bits held up well to this project. I may be making more doors in the future, which will give me the opportunity to further test their durability.

Well first time using the bits and shaft is bent. The bit was out of balance and worked it’s way out of the collet. Good thing I had the guard down or it would have hit me in the head. A broken guard is better than stitches. Make sure to look at the shaft prior to using them.

I'm always a little concerned when something I buy is a great deal. This was my first time making cabinet doors and they turned out good (not great). I think the results were due to my inexperience, not the bits. I would recommend these to anyone. I'm looking forward to the next project, now that I've learned some of thing not to do.

Works well enough for the price. WARNING: keep bits as close as possible to the chuck mount. Not well balanced and will bend the 1/4" shaft readily. Joints will not be as tight as presented in product photo. Supplied shim washers help to get better joint results.
