For those just getting into woodworking and wanting to expand, or begin elevating their hand tool this is a great introduction. The marking gauge is sharp and marks the wood well, gives even pressure and the markings remain repeatable after many uses. I did not compare the ratios of the jig that was provided to compare to an angle finder but utilizing it for a quick layout works as intended. It comes in a little case and replacement pieces.

I've really enjoyed using this marking gauge. The bearing wheel cutter works very well for some projects. The bearing cutter has a very smooth action and work well on soft woods.I think the graduations are just painted on, but I'm not planning on using them, but they seem to be holding up well.The only problem I've had with it is that it rolls very easily when set down. I took it to my bench grinder and ground a flat side on the fence to keep it from falling off my work bench and now it's great.I've also found the seller's customer service to be very responsive and easy to deal with.

This disc marking gauge is exactly what I needed to make accurate score cut marking lines on my various wood working projects without the use of a pencil. Pencil thickness can vary and so can then the accuracy of my cuts. I tested the accuracy of this disc marking gauge against many steel rulers and it was right on the money, dead accurate! It is entire body is made from non-Ferrous (non-magnetic) metal with only the small (shirt button size) steel cutter being Ferrous (magnetic steel). The body of the tool is calibrated up to 6" or 15 cm with looks like to be laser etching on the barrel of the tool. It comes with a rotating disc cutter for soft woods (pine, etc.) and non-rotating cutter for hardwoods such as maple, ash, etc. It also came with a pencil and a pencil holder in case you wanted to use a pencil instead of the metal disc. It also comes with a metal "bow-tie style dovetail†wood gauge too. Complete with detailed instructions on how to use the marking gauge but not the dovetail gauge. Made in China. It also comes in a nice round protective mail tube for great storage. I am glad to have and use this professional marking tool as part of my woodworking tool collection!

Really liked the dovetail joint angle guide. Layout tool worked great. Would be nice if the guide came with an explanation of the various pitch angles noted & instructions on how to cut dovetail joints. I found a simple 8 step process video on line that I watched & wrote down the instructions given verbally so I could follow as I payed out my tails & pins n the wood.
