I use this system for timing 10m flys, 60m, and 150m sprints at the track. The system works well and battery life is good enough to last for an entire 1.5+ hr training session.Only issue is the tripods are very short, and it’s easy to sprint over the beam. I had to source four wooden blocks that the tripods are mounted on, and they raise the overall timing system by approx 5-6â€. We’ve only had one run that wasn’t timed with this change.Overall, a great system, but it would be good if the manufacturer could offer optional 2-3 foot tripods that would work directly with this system.UPDATE: Revised my rating to 5 stars. YZ now sells adjustable tripod stands for this system that raise it up 13". It can be found on Amazon under the product name "YZ Professional Tripod Stand for Scoreboard Adjustable Length Score Keeper".

I bought it in May and have only used it 3 times. Went to use it today and it won't turn on and smells like it's burning.

Got this to do timed horse events and it’s so easy to use and works greats. Occasionally a fly will trip the timer but that’s a rare occasion. Great value compared to other rodeo timers.

We purchased this for horse game play days and horse jumping competitions. Works well. We placed it on a stand to elevate it so the horses wouldn't knock them. You need 2 people to set up otherwise it takes quite a bit to get the laser right. Overall very easy to use. Great value.

YZ Battery Powered Wireless Laser TimerI recently tested the YZ Battery Powered Wireless Laser Timer, and it’s proven to be an excellent addition to my racing setup. Priced around $300, this clock offers precision timing down to the thousandths of a second, which is exactly what’s needed for accurate race results. The beam interruption feature is spot-on, ensuring reliable starts and stops every time. The device is lightweight and portable, with dimensions that make it easy to set up and transport. For anyone serious about timing in sports like sprints, bike racing, or even track and field events, this timer hits the mark, especially given its competitive price point.I did notice there’s a 10% off coupon available now, which makes it an even better deal than when I bought it—every little bit helps! An STG Synergies BTN Enterprises Review!

This system is such a great idea with one major flaw. It will work for some things but for sprinting and such it may not work well because the tripods are so close to the ground. Runners, especially high school and up, have long strides and can/will completely miss triggering the lasers, which renders this whole setup useless. If the tripods were taller, to catch the body of the person instead of just their feet, then this would be a much better system. I think that for the current setup it is very expensive. I do like that it all comes with a carrying case, and it is easy to setup. The video in the product photos makes it easy to understand how to do it. I think that if they add taller tripods and find a way to get the batteries to last for a whole practice, they would have a real winner here. As it is currently offered, I think it is overvalued.

I bought some larger/taller tripods to work with this system, and am currently using it (successfully) to time 40 yard sprints, and 60 meter sprints. the taller tripods were required because it is easy for a sprint to not trigger the devices by clearing (essentially striding/flying-over) the laser beam with the stock 6"/15 cm tall tripods. I think this will be a great tool in honing our sprinting performances.
