Very good investment for the money, I have drilled 420 holes of 5/8 in 1/4 hard steel in two days, absolutely no problems at all

Used for installing parallel arm closers on multiple HM door frames - worked perfect for overhead drilling on frames. Used included adapter for jacobs chuck & twist bits. Light & compact enough to grab the stop on a HM masonry frame & magnet held in place without issue or bit travel. Variable speed and rev all functioned as advertised. Yet to try on other applications but it paid for itself in labor cost first day of use.

Used it on a steel door jamb and it held for 1 second and slid off, I grabbed it and hurt my back. Saved me from buying the customer a new floor, but…. It’s just a bad drill. It can’t even hold its own weight. Plus it didn’t come with the tube needed to lubricate the drill bit.

The drill seemed to work OK, not the strongest magnet but will hold. the bits are awful. Wore 1 bit out on each side of the Pole tried cutting lubricant oil and W.D 40.

We have gone through 3 different types of mag drills, they tend to get pushed to their limits in a fabrication shop, but so far this magdrill has been up to the challenge. Great features such as the ability to install a drill bit chuck , speed control, and the column itself is very stout. No slop for tight tolerance of holes and for saving your annular cutters from destruction. If I have to replace it, I'd buy the same one again

It is advertised as being 220 volt and 14 amps. When unpackaged this was clearly seen that it is only 110/120 volt. I have not used it yet, but if the magnet holds in the overhead position, and it has sufficient drill power, I will keep it.
