The heater is operated using standard household AC power and the heat generated is distributed throughout the engine by the convective flow of the warmed coolant

First off, it comes with a cord and seems very well built. Order a 12mm 1/2†drive socket if you are doing this on a Nissan to get the plug out. It can still be a bear however. The heater went in fine, hasn’t leaked, appears to be functioning correctly. However it just doesn’t warm my engine like I hoped. I park in a garage, but have an extremely short commute and wanted to lessen the damage I am doing to my engine, and get some heat a little quicker. I’m not positive it does either super well. I have it on a timer however and am letting it run for 3 hours before I need the vehicle. Maybe it needs more time? Maybe the Nissan is particularly hard to heat? Maybe I am using it at 30’ and don’t really notice any difference, because I don’t *technically* need a block heater for those temps. But it works, seems to be built very well. Maybe I’ll turn the time up to 4 hours?

Allowed me to start my truck when sitting outside in -40 temps in Fairbanks AK. I also used an oil pan pad and a trickle charger on the battery so it would stay thawed.

AC cord termination position is a little tricky, but worked well, from underneath car.
